This is the story of a stranger in a strange land. Uprooted from all he knows in the San Fernando Valley and deposited into a virtual wasteland of a Utah farming community. His only interactions with peers come from school or the occasional visit to their farms. His widowed mother has cut them off from all they once knew and provides little explanation of why. And though they have a strong relationship it's still a very lonely life for Duncan. And then one day even she is stripped from his life. How he copes and finds his way through the maze of red tape and the horror of being imprisoned in a juvenile lockup is the heart of the story.

Though he is gone, his love and words live on as long as we remember him.
