The ship is incapable of landing on planets due to its size. With no other means of getting down to the planet, shuttle crafts were incorporated into the ship's design. There are four different types of shuttles.
| Bays 1-3 are for returning shuttles so they can be inspected before going into their proper berth. Bays 4-7 are used to hold the Maintenance shuttles. Two can fit in each berth. Bays 8-11 are for visiting shuttles. Bays 12 is for Utility Vehicles used to haul heavy cargo to various parts of the ship. There are two. Operations Office is just outside the Main Shuttle Bay. Bays 13-18 were renamed to reflect the number of the Ship in each berth. |
The Maintenance Shuttle is used for repairing the outside of the ship. Claws come out of the protrusions at the front of the shuttle to be used like hands. They are controlled by a pair of gloves worn by the pilot.
This shuttle only carries the pilot; therefore, all Engineering Personnel are required to learn how to fly this type.
The Earhart Class carries two Maintenance Shuttles but can house up to eight. They are easily constructed and broken down as the need arises.

The Type A - Short range Shuttle has many uses. Should a team require to don EVA suits and work on the hull, they could use a Type A Shuttle. This shuttle is also used for transport from one ship to another, or for transporting down to planet surfaces.
This shuttle can carry six crew members, including the pilot.
The Earhart Class carries four Type A - Short Range Shuttles.

The Type B - Long Range Shuttle is mainly used for long distances, but can be used like the Type A, if necessary.
While the Type B is 2m (6.56 ft.) longer than the Type A, it still only carries six crew members, including the pilot. In this extra space, there are three bunks for personnel to be able to sleep, should the need arise. It also has food storage for the distant trips. Bathroom and "Kitchen," or galley, are across from the bunks.
The Earhart Class carries two Type B - Long Range Shuttles.

The fourth type of shuttle is the Cargo Shuttle, nicknamed Bubba. This is the biggest shuttle carried by the Earhart Class Ship. Bubbas are big enough to carry just under half the crew each, but not in comfort. With no cargo, seating for forty is capable, but not recommended… except in an emergency. Due to their size, Bubbas are in the Secondary Shuttle Bay.
The Earhart Class carries two Type C - Cargo Shuttles.

Though the Sooloo was not originally equipped with a fighter, one was given to them by the Darastixians, or more specifically, Meagear Endou. The Darastixians made two new fighters and gave one to the Sooloo, mainly for Danny Harper, but any officer with pilot training could fly her. Meagear Endou named his new fighter 'The Harper' so Danny named his 'The Endou.' This fighter went with Danny to the SS Robert Heinlein.
The Fighter can carry the Pilot, Co-Pilot and a Gunner. While the Pilot has the ability to fly alone, there are times when all three may be needed in extreme battles.
The SS Robert Heinlein has one Draconian Fighter and five SF-Fighters. The Fighters are stored in the Secondary Shuttle Bay with the Bubbas.
