Three Finger Cove: The Twins ~ Book Four

Chapter Sixteen

Mr. Ken quickly went out of his Study looking for Kyle. He had no idea where to begin to look as the twins hadn't been at The Cove for more than a week, and he didn't know where the twin's might go to settle down. Chief had run out after Kyle, too, so Mr. Ken figured he'd call the resident dog to find where the younger twin went.

"Chief, come here girl," called out Mr. Ken.

"Chief …" again called Mr. Ken. That time Chief did appear at the bottom of the stairs of the Great Room. Mr. Ken walked down the stairs and greeted Chief.

"Where is Kyle, girl?" lightly asked Mr. Ken.

Chief looked up and began to run back and forth indicating she wanted the man to follower her. Mr. Ken did follow the resident dog and she led him to the Theater.

Mr. Ken slowly opened the Theater door and he heard Kyle crying. Chief wanted to go to the lad but Mr. Ken held her collar and told her to wait. The man then slowly walked over to the crying twin and put his hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Kyle … may I sit down with you?" asked the owner of The Cove, calmly.

Kyle looked around at the man and immediately jumped into his arms and the two of them fell into the very comfortable theater lounger. Kyle began to cry harder now that he had a death grip on 'Dad Ken'. All Mr. Ken could do was try to calm the lad down as easy as he could and try to get to the bottom of Kyle's outburst up in the Study.

Robert and Charles stopped in Robert's room to try to make out what Kyle's outburst was all about. They had no clue as to why the younger twin would say what he did. They speculated that since it had something to do with the twins' dad they figured Kevin got more of their dad's attention than Kyle did and that now with their dad not there Kevin was treated exactly like Kyle was. The two Covers wondered if Kevin might have said something to his brother since they started staying there that maybe brought things to a 'head'.

Kevin went looking for his brother to try to make things right between them. He knew his dad always took him, and never his twin, to do 'special' things together. He then thought about how lately his dad took him to be with some other men and their, what he was told were their son's, and do their 'special' things with them. He knew his dad always told him never to tell Kyle what they did together but he wanted, no he needed to make things right between them. Even as he thought of all those things, he didn't have any idea where his twin might have run off to. Kevin sat down and began to cry, again.

Mr. Ken had succeeded in getting Kyle calmed down to a light whimper but the lad wasn't talking, yet. The owner of The Cove continued to rub the boy's back and hug him close every now and then, to try to reassure the boy he was still there and wasn't going anywhere.

Robert and Charles continued to deliberate what was going on between the twins. Not having a clue what was going on between the twins, they then made up some reasons. Robert speculated that their dad always took Kevin out for ice cream because it was cheaper than paying for two kids. That made both Cover lads laugh heartedly. Charles then offered that dad took Kevin out to play miniature golf because of the same reason, it was cheaper that way.

Robert then spoke about how Spartan the twin's bedroom was and he wondered out loud why the parents' bedroom was full of new furniture and electronics and new clothes and the twins had to share a small bed. Charles said it was strange that the parents would treat their only kids that way, and then make it look like they were going out looking for a new place to live. He added that to do that he had to have a 'cash cow' somewhere they were using. Charles then laughed.

Charles' guess got Robert to begin thinking. The teen Cover began to mull things through his mind. His first thought was that he was positive it was Parker Parchsons who was one of the first men he was made to go with. With that thought, he looked back at what his parents did with all the money they were getting from the men he went with. Sure, he reasoned, they bought him some stuff, but he then remembered all the really nice things they bought for themselves.

Robert then racked his brain as he remembered all the very nice things Mr. and Mrs. Parchsons had. His mind tried to balance what he knew to what he saw, and his only answer was that Parker Parchsons was probably using Kevin as he was used and that was the reason dad Parchsons only took Kevin and never Kyle.

Charles watched his 'brother' sitting there staring off into space after he kiddingly said something about the Parchsons having a cash cow. He tried to get Robert's attention, but he could tell the teen was really thinking through something, so he let him be.

Kyle finally settled down enough that he thanked Mr. Ken for coming to get him. 'Dad Ken' hugged the lad and then asked him if he was ready to talk about what happened up in the Study. Kyle said he really didn't want to talk about that. It was 'Dad Ken' who told the youngster that he couldn't help fix things if he never had the chance to help. Kyle pulled back some to look into the man's eyes to see if what he heard was indeed the man wanted to help. Seeing concern in 'Dad Ken's' eyes Kyle hugged the man and said he'd talk to him.

Kevin finally went up to his and his brother's bedroom and he cried some more. He thought about what he and his dad and his dad's friends did together and then he cried even harder. His mind played over what Robert told him, but he never knew anything other than he had to go with some men. But why? That was the question that his mind was struggling to answer.

Kevin figured he'd only learn that answer after he talked to his older 'brother', but he also knew right then was not the right time. Kevin then wondered what Kyle and 'Dad Ken' were talking about. He hoped that when Kyle came up to their room he could find out. Kevin never felt what it was like being alone, but now he knew what it was like not to have his twin nearby and he did not like the way it felt.

"Kyle … you said something to me before about your dad and Kevin always going off without you. Is that what came boiling up and out when you replied to your brother up in the Study?" asked Mr. Ken.

Kyle put his head down some but 'Dad Ken' put his finger under the lad's chin and raised the boy's face up to look at him. "Kyle … is that what happened? Come on now, we need to talk this out and try to get you back into a happy mood."

"Yes, sir … when Kevin busted me about calling you 'dad', I just … I just couldn't take it any longer NOT having someone to actually call a dad. Is that so wrong 'Dad Ken?" honestly asked Kyle with hope in his eyes.

"Kyle, I think I know what you're saying and maybe if we really sit down and talk this out we can find something that can get you to look at this differently. Will you do that with me, 'son'? And maybe … you can also talk to Doctor Doug and maybe he can also help you see this through," replied 'Dad Ken'.

"Will Kev … will Kev have to be there, you know, when I talk with you or even when I talk with Doctor Doug?" asked Kyle.

"No, Kyle, if you want it to just be you and me then Kevin … well, he will not be invited. As for Doctor Doug, I think he will want to talk to you guys separately. That way he can get to know you as an individual. He'll want to get to know the real 'you', not the twin. Kyle … you'll have a great opportunity to get lots of things off your chest and that is the best thing about talking to Doctor Doug. …

"Kyle, Doctor Doug will NEVER talk to me about anything you tell him unless you tell him it is OK to do so. This rift that has been building up between you and Kevin has been going on for quite some time I suspect, so it is best for you to get a handle on this quickly. So … what do you say? You ready to start getting this off your chest and begin taking with me?" counseled 'Dad Ken'.

Kyle thought about it for a few moments and then told 'Dad Ken' he was ready. The lad then asked if they could stay like they were and talk right there in that comfortable theater seat and with the lights low. The lad then looked into the man's eyes with much hope in his face.

"Yes, Kyle, I think that will be OK for us to talk here. Did you know that Collin and Robert … they would talk to me in here, too? And ever since Charles came to The Cove he likes to talk to me just like we are going to do," replies Mr. Ken.

"No, I didn't know that. I bet there are a lot of things that Collin and Robert and Charles have done in here that my brother and me don't know. But … I really like it here 'dad' and … and if I could … I'd stay here forever," spoke up a teary-eyed Kyle.

Mr. Ken hugged the boy close to him and the lad melted into his hug. Ken Thomas figured the lad desperately wanted someone to hold him and be the 'dad' to him he never thought he had. The man then wondered how Dan would fit into the equation.

"Kyle, can you start and tell me what this is all about that your brother and your dad go off together and don't ever take you? Can you tell me when this all started and how it came that only Kevin went with your dad?" simply asked 'Dad Ken'.

"Well, I think I already told you part of it, Mr. Ken," immediately replied Kyle.

"Yes, you did but I want you to start from the beginning, so I can get a, you know, full perspective on the What and the How. Can you do that for me 'son'?" answered 'Dad Ken'.

Kyle smiled at hearing the word 'son' and it being referred to him. Then the lad snuggled into the man's arms.

"'Dad Ken', our dad … he used to do lots of things with both of us all the time," began Kyle. "Then, it was right after we turned ten that things changed, but … well not too much at first. Our dad, he started to take us separately and do things with us. He told me that he wanted to really get to know who we were. At first, he took us to the park and we'd throw the ball around. Then he'd take us with him when he went to the store and we'd help him get the groceries. We'd each do stuff like that with him but at different times.

"Then … right about the time we were ten and a half our dad, he started to take us places and wherever we went we got to meet some of his friends and their kids. It was always the same friends but occasionally they would be new guys. His friends would talk to us about what we liked to do and stuff. Then, sometimes … they'd ask us … if we learned how to use our … what they'd ask us if we knew how to make our … our 'thingy' stand up and make it sing. … Dad Ken' … that made me feel kinda bad inside when they asked me that and I told my real dad that.

"Then, after a while, he'd only take Kevin with him. He never asked me to go anymore and he also told Kev to never to tell me. That really hurt, you know inside of me, that my dad didn't like me as much anymore," revealed Kyle

"Kyle … these men … how old were they?" asked 'Dad Ken'.

"Well, if I remember right … they were about our dad's age. Some were older and some were younger. Why?" asked Kyle.

"And how old would you say their sons were?" further asked Mr. Ken.

"Well, I think they were our age, but some … they may have been a little younger than us. I never asked them their age, 'Dad Ken'" replied Kyle. "Why do you want to know that?"

"I was just curious, Kyle. … Kyle … did these men ever have anyone else with them when you met them? You know, was their wife around when you met them?" directly asked Mr. Ken.

"No, I don't ever remember meeting any ladies or women. It was … it was always these same men and their sons'. Our dad told us the men were guys he used to work with or he played baseball with when he was younger, like we were," explained Kyle.

"Kyle, did you and Kevin ever talk about what you each did with your dad?" asked Mr. Ken.

"Yeah, we did all the time," said an animated Kyle. "We used to compare what we each did with our dad. It was fun to compare where our dad took us and what we did with him. We talked about the things we liked to do and where our dad was interested in taking us."

"You know what, 'Dad Ken'?" asked Kyle. Then without letting the man respond, the lad continued and said, "I like sitting here with you. You know … I can't remember the last time my dad and I did anything like this. You know, sit together and just, you know, talk. Now I know why Collin and Robert and Charles liked doing this. It is fun. I hope we can talk like this again!"

Mr. Ken smiled at what Kyle just said and before he knew it Kyle had hugged the man real tight. All Mr. Ken could think to do was hug the lad back and rub his back some. When they released their mutual hug, Kyle said he needed to go pee. The two had a quick laugh and Kyle got up and started out of the Theater. Kyle, before he opened the door, looked back at Mr. Ken asked, "Can we do this later?"

"Sure, Kyle, we can do this again later. Now go and pee before you make a stain on the carpet." The two had another mutual laugh and Kyle went out the door.

Mr. Ken went up to his Study and sat down and thought about what little Kyle had told him but how much it could all mean in the long run. As he was thinking, Robert came into the room and asked, "'Dad', can I talk with you for a little bit?"

"Sure, 'son', come on in and have a seat," answered 'dad' Ken.

"Can I close the door first?" Robert wanted to know.

"Sure, I guess that will be OK. It must be really important for you to ask that," smiled Mr. Ken.

Robert closed the Study door and then walked over to one of the comfortable chairs and sat down. Mr. Ken came from behind his desk and sat in the chair right next to his 'son'. When he saw his 'dad was settled in his chair, the teenager took a deep breath and started his story.

"'Dad' … I was thinking about, you know, what happened in the Study earlier and, well, Charles and I were up in my room talking about what happened. Anyway, we started to make up reasons why the twins were at odds with one another. We laughed at some of the things we imagined, but … then Charles said something that clicked inside of me. … 'Dad' … remember me telling you I … I thought Mr. Parchsons was one of the men who … who used me. I'm … I'm sure of it 'dad'. I'm now sure of it!

'Dad' Ken got a surprised look on his face now that Robert said he was now certain Parker Parchsons was one of the men his dad made him go with.

"'Dad', I thought through what my parents did with all the money I sort of made for them. It sort of matched what Mr. and Mrs. Parchsons' are doing with the money, ahh … that maybe Kevin was making for … them," revealed Robert.

"Robert that is a very serious charge you're making. I've asked Mr. Dan to check things out and for now and he told me there were no receipts with Mr. Parchsons name on them. I'm afraid the police will need more than just your say-so," replied 'dad Ken.

"But 'dad', I know he was one of the men who I went with when I first started to go out with them. He didn't do anything like what the last men did to me, but I am sure he was one of the first men to take me out. As for the receipts, I didn't start keeping them until they began taking me out of the state. Won't you believe me?" pleaded Robert.

"Come here, Robert," asked 'dad' Ken. Robert got out of the leather chair and went over and stood in front of his 'dad'.

'Dad' Ken reached out and pulled the lad into his lap. He then said, "Robert, I DO believe you, I really do, but … what we need is more proof than just your word. Mr. Dan … he told me he was going to get the investigators working on something and he'd get back with me when they had much more information. The good thing now is Mr. Parchsons … he's laid up in the hospital and won't be out for some time, so … this way he can't harm any other boys or Kevin if indeed Kevin is involved like you were," Mr. Ken said, as he tried to calm and reassure his 'son'.

"But 'dad', how can they find out if Kevin … if he was being used like I was? My dad, he started me going with those men right after I turned ten. It was just before I turned eleven that the men began to take me away for the weekends. They took me out to California, mostly, but we also went to the Grand Canyon, Vegas, Phoenix and other places. What can I do to make them believe me?" a now teary-eyed Robert argued.

"Robert, let's sleep on this and maybe in the morning you'll have a clearer head and a better feel for what you believe. In the morning your mind will have had time to refocus your thoughts and maybe there will be something else that will pop into your mind that will give Mr. Dan some more evidence he and his fellow officers can go with. Can you do that for me?" counseled Mr. Ken, as he hugged the lad.

Reluctantly, Robert said he understood what Mr. Ken wanted him to do. The teen got off Mr. Ken's lap and then remembering something he turned to his 'dad'. Then he told the man what Kevin asked and how he and Charles answered him. He told him that Kevin wasn't too happy about that and they went up to his bedroom to talk about what happened in the Study. Robert told Mr. Ken that neither he nor Charles had seen Kevin since then.

Mr. Ken thanked the lad for that piece of information and told Robert that he would look into it. The two hugged one more time before Robert went over to the door and opened it and walked out. He went directly up to his room.

Mr. Ken had tidbits of information that even together didn't make sense. Kyle had told him that his dad took the twins individually places and then as they got older he began to introduce them to other men and supposedly their sons. On the surface that piece of information didn't mean anything. He'd need to talk to Kevin to get his side of the story and what he and his dad did together. Then, there is Robert remembering that as he got older the men would take him further away from home and for the weekends. Mr. Ken again told himself that none of the information he had, made any sense and he needed hard evidence to take to Dan for the man to be able to take any action on Parker Parchsons.

Kyle went up to his room after relieving the pressure from his bladder. When he entered the bedroom, Kevin heard him come in and upon seeing him jumped over to his twin, hugged him, and then apologized for saying what he did down in 'Dad Ken's' Study. When they released, Kevin then asked his twin what he and 'Dad Ken' talked about.

Kyle was relieved that his twin brother wasn't mad at him for yelling at him about not having a 'real' dad and bemoaning that their dad never did anything with him anymore. But, when he heard his twin ask him what Mr. Ken and he talked about, he wasn't too sure if he wanted to tell his older brother.

Kyle knew he wanted what he and 'Dad Ken' talked about to be private and if he told Kev what it was Mr. Ken asked him about it wouldn't be 'private' anymore. Thinking that through, Kyle told Kevin that all Mr. Ken did was to talk to him to calm him down and let him cry out his tears.

"But, Kyle, didn't Mr. Ken ask you anything about what you said?" Kevin desperately wanted to know.

Kyle quickly thought about what he could say and then told his twin, "Well, Mr. Ken … he asked me if there was anything that was going on here at The Cove, as he calls it, that would cause me to get so upset as I did. He asked me if we were getting along OK and if we weren't did he need to separate us. I told him we didn't have any problems and that we didn't need to be in separate rooms. I then told him I missed mom and dad."

"Oh, OK," stated Kevin, "Maybe we do need to talk about things. We were in that car crash and put into a hospital and now we can't see our parents. Then they move mom and dad far away and they move us to live here with Mr. Ken, Robert and Charles. We've only seen our mom and dad once, and we've been so busy here that we haven't talked like we once did. Maybe we can get Mr. Ken to take us to visit our mom and dad this weekend? What do you think about that?"

"Kev, don't you remember … we asked some of our new friends to come over tomorrow and on Sunday to use the skate ramps and then swim with us. We just can't tell them they can't come over. Most of them have never been here and are looking forward to riding the new ramps. And even 'Dad Ken' told us to tell him when we wanted to go visit mom and dad so he could make arrangements. If you want, we can tell him tomorrow at breakfast that we'd like to go visit mom and dad next weekend. That way 'Dad Ken' can plan to take us and then so can we be with our new friends."

Kevin thought about what his twin said and he had to agree with Kyle and they did just see their mom and dad last weekend and they do need to be kids and have some fun.

"Kyle, yes, I agree with what you just said. It wouldn't be fair to our friends," said Kevin. "Let's talk to 'Dad Ken' tomorrow morning about taking us to see mom and dad next weekend. Oh, and you know what? Remember, I got the phone numbers to our mom and dad's room before we left last weekend, so maybe we can call our parents some time? Hopefully, when things settle down for us, we can go back to being best friends and buddies and have our talks like we used to do? … Would you be OK with that Kyle?" finished up a very hopeful Kevin.

Kyle hugged his older twin and the two had a laugh between them. They sat down on their own bed and talked about everything that happened since they began living at Three Finger Cove. They hadn't gotten used to saying 'The Cove', yet.

Charles waited until Robert had come back up to his room. He wanted to talk to him about how he was spaced out while they were talking. Charles wanted to know what that was all about and if he could do anything to help his 'brother'.

"Robert …" said Charles as he knocked on the lad's bedroom door.

"Oh, hi Charles. What's up?" replied Robert.

"Well … I was going to ask you the same thing. Ahh, what happened to you that you sort of, you know, 'spaced out' while we were talking about the twins?" replied Charles.

"Well, ahh, Charles … I think I'd rather not talk about it just now, OK? Something clicked in my mind …" began Robert, before he was interrupted by Charles asking, "Is that why you went down to talk to 'dad'?"

"How do you know I went to talk to 'dad'?" asked Robert.

"Well … I sort of went looking for you after you left the room. You didn't seem to be yourself, so I wanted to make sure you were doing OK. When I went downstairs and I saw the door to the Study closed I figured you were in there. Was I right?" smiled Charles as he asked his last question.

"Yeah, I was in there with 'dad'. I needed to talk to him and … and I wanted it to be, you know, private," answered Robert.

"So private … that you can't tell me?" honestly asked Charles.

Robert looked directly into Charles' eyes and said. "It isn't that I don't want to talk to you about it, but … everything is still up in the air and … I don't want to say anything to you until 'dad' can check something out for me. He says he'll get with me when he has a better handle on what we talked about."

"Does this have anything to do with … the twins?" asked Charles.

"I don't want to talk about it," quickly replied Robert.

"Yeah, I bet it does. Come on Robert, you can trust me not to say anything," sort of pleaded Charles.

"Charles … give me a few days, a week maybe, and hopefully by then 'dad' will have an answer for me then I'll talk to you. OK?" said a serious looking Robert.

"OK, I'll back off … for now," laughed Charles.

All the Cover boys were in bed by eleven. There had been a lot of excitement at school that morning and then in the Study for them, so they easily fell asleep. It was during the night that Kevin had another bad dream.

This time Kevin's dream included Robert and him doing those things that Kevin enjoyed doing with his dad and some of the men his dad introduced him too. Kevin didn't particularly like all the men he was introduced to because of the way they would touch him while they sort of played. Kevin did enjoy the dream as Robert was also there keeping an eye on him and the men he was with so they didn't get too frisky. Kevin's dream had some of the men touching his butt while they were making his thingy 'sing'. Kevin enjoyed the feelings he got inside when he was with the man, but especially when he was with his dad.

Kevin's dream then took a weird turn. While he was enjoying the ministrations the man was doing to him, he saw his twin, Kyle, walk into the room. Kevin immediately stood up and tried to walk away from the man he was with, but the man pulled him back to where he was. Kevin then called out to Kyle but his twin didn't hear him. Then one of the men that Kevin did not like, because of the way he would play with his butt, walked over to Kyle and took his hand and the two went into another room. Kevin woke up screaming for Kyle not to go with that man.

Kyle woke up from his brother's screaming and went to him and asked him why he was screaming for him not to go with that man. Kevin couldn't answer his twin because his heart was still beating as fast as it ever had and his breathing was deep and fast.

Kyle didn't know what to do, so he ran out of his room, calling for Robert for help. The younger twin didn't knock on Robert's door he just opened it and went in yelling that Kevin was in trouble.

Robert woke up fast and asked the twin what was the matter. Kyle said his brother called out to him 'not to go with that man' and when he tried to help his twin could not answer him. Robert jumped out of bed and he and Kyle went over to the twins' bedroom. Along the way, Charles came out of his bedroom and seeing his 'brothers' he asked what was going on. Robert said for him to follow him.

When they entered the bedroom Kevin was again fast asleep. Kyle couldn't understand what happened. He told both Robert and Charles that his brother woke him up saying, 'don't go with that man'. Kyle then told them he tried to talk to his brother but all he did was stare forward and breathe fast and deep.

It was then that Chief and Mr. Ken came into the room. "Boys … what's going on here?" asked 'dad' Ken.

"'Dad', Kyle came running into my room saying Kevin needed help. He told me Kevin yelled something and that he wouldn't answer him, so he came and got me. Charles came out of his room from the noise and the three of us came in here only to find Kevin fast asleep," explained Robert.

"'Dad Ken', Kevin yelled in sleep like Robert said. I tried to get him to answer me, but all he did was stare. He never even moved his head. I didn't know what was wrong with him so I went to get Robert," further explained Kyle.

The four Covers continued to discuss what happened right there in the bedroom and they didn't whisper. It was then that Kevin woke up and asked why everyone was in his bedroom. The question caused the entire explanation and discussion to be told all over again.

'Dad' Ken hugged all of his 'boys' and then told them it was past 4 o'clock in the morning and they should all go drain their dragons and for them to go back to bed. The boys did just that and eventually they all went back to sleep. And even though Kevin had one bad dream that night, he didn't have another one.

Chief stayed with the twins that night and was ready, at a moment's notice, to go get Mr. Ken or Robert. She loved all her boys and would do anything to protect them. She slept well that night since Kevin didn't have another bad dream.

The morning came all too soon for the boys. Sure they all had gotten a good night's sleep but they'd been getting up at o'dark thirty the past four mornings and they wanted to sleep and enjoy their nice, soft beds. Even though they all had peed around four o'clock that morning, their bodies, well their bladders, responded to the light coming in through the windows and they woke up with their morning flagpole standing high.

Robert knew that Mr. Bill and Mr. Stewart were coming over at 10 o'clock that morning to talk to him and Mr. Ken about the upcoming trial slated to begin that coming Wednesday. The teen knew he needed to be ready for them when they arrived, so he was the first Cover lad to visit the porcelain god, soon to be followed by 'brother' Charles. The two older 'brothers' were brushing their teeth when Kevin and Kyle entered the restroom and went directly to the two vacant porcelain gods to relieve the pressure in their bladders and help make their morning flagpoles go down. The twins then quickly brushed their teeth and joined their older 'brothers' in the shower.

The four lads took their showers together. They'd been doing that ever since the twins joined The Cove brotherhood and so there were no embarrassing moments when they all got naked in front of one another and took their shower. The lads talked about Kevin's calling out in the middle of the night and Kevin said he didn't remember why he would have done that. Robert watched the older twin as he even joked about it and saw that the twin didn't act as if he was hiding anything or evading talking about it.

Since it was Momma Maria's Saturday off, the Covers were on their own for breakfast. The boys asked Mr. Ken to take them over to Four Corner to eat, but the owner of The Cove looked at the time and told them they didn't have enough time to get over there, eat, and then return in time to meet with Mr. Jackson and Mr. Russell. The boys all moaned they had to choose to dig through the frozen breakfast burritos Momma Maria kept ready for them to reheat and eat, or pick a cereal to drown with milk.

While three of the four Cover lads looked through the frozen burritos, Kyle went over to the pantry and pulled out a box of cereal. He placed it on the table, went to grab a bowl out of the cupboard, then he went to the refrigerator and got out the 2% milk. The youngest Cover was already eating before the other lads had gotten their burrito of choice out of the freezer.

While they were getting their breakfast out of the freezer, Robert asked his 'dad' if he wanted any of the burritos. Learning what the man wanted, the older 'brother' took out the requested frozen foods, unwrapped them and placed them on the microwaveable plate so they could heat with all the others. Then the Cover's, who selected burritos, waited. As they sat around the table, Kyle inwardly smiled as he continued to eat his cereal.

While waiting, Kevin remembered his conversation with his younger twin the night before, so he got Mr. Ken's attention. "'Dad Ken'," called out Kevin.

"Yes, Kevin," replied Mr. Ken.

"Ahh, Kyle and I … we talked last night about visiting our parents. We know that too many things are already schedule for this weekend, so … well, we thought that if we asked you earlier enough we could possibly schedule to go visit our mom and dad next weekend. Also, if you remember, I got the phone numbers for our parent's rooms so maybe we can call them sometime," replied a hopeful Kevin.

"That is a wonderful idea, Kevin. I am glad you and your brother thought this through before you asked me about going back down to San Antonio next weekend to visit your mom and dad. And, calling your mom and dad would also work out. Just remind me when you want to do that, but keep in mind this weekend is already full with your new friends coming over today and tomorrow. Also, Robert's and my lawyers are coming today to discuss the trial that is scheduled to start this Wednesday. So, tell me, what time will you want to go down to the hospital, Kevin?" finished up 'Dad Ken'.

"Well, we haven't thought about that, yet, Mr. Ken. We just wanted to ask you if you could take us there next weekend and we wanted to ask you before too many other things got scheduled first," explained Kevin.

"Yeah, we want to visit our mom and dad but we also want to get our beauty sleep first," laughed Kyle. "I think it would be best if we went on Saturday. That way we have Sunday to have fun before going back to school on Monday."

"Kevin, does that sound OK with you?" asked 'Dad Ken'.

"Yeah, that sounds good to me. Maybe we can do what we did that first time. You know, stop for breakfast along the way and then stop on the way back. That was fun going to places we didn't go to that often," replied Kevin.

When the burritos were finally heated up, Robert brought them all over to the table and passed them out. He then went to get his 'dad' more coffee while he told the others to go get their drink of choice. Then, even though Kyle was finished eating his breakfast, the five Covers talked about the past week and what would be happening today and then tomorrow.

It was almost 10 AM when Mr. Ken's cell phone rang. The guard at the Main Gate called to let him know his guests were there and he'd allowed them to drive down to the front door.

"Guys, well Robert, Mr. Bill, and Mr. Stewart are here and will be at the Foyer door in a few seconds. Charles, Kevin, and Kyle, we'll be in my Study if you need us, but I am hoping you won't. I'm hoping we'll be finished by the time your friends start arriving around twelve noon.

"Charles, I'll ask you to be the host and meet the twin's new friend's parents and then call me if we aren't out of our meeting. Tell the parents of the new lads that I do want to meet them and will be there shortly, if I am not already there. You OK with that Charles?" finished Mr. Ken.

"Sure, 'dad', I can handle that. Kevin and Kyle and I will be out on the ramps practicing. That way if the other kids need more ramp time we'll have already had ours. Then it shouldn't matter if we don't skate all that much when the whole gang is here. I'll also watch the time and head up to the Main gate to be there before noon," answered Charles.

Just then the Front doorbell rang.
