"Three Finger Cove," answered Ken Thomas.
"Mr. Ken," was all that Mr. Wayne got out before being cut off.
"So, you called to tell me you're running late," joked Mr. Ken.
"Mr. Ken, Mr. Ken," yelled Mr. Wayne, to get the man's attention.
"What is it Wayne. What's happened?" asked Ken Thomas.
"It's' Matthew ... he's ... he's missing," breathlessly said the Estate Master.
"What do you mean? How did it happen?" asked an anxious Mr. Ken.
"He went to the restroom, as he and the other boys have done, and he never came back. Doug helped me search his floor, and the one above and below his. Matthew wasn't anywhere. I even search the parking lot, but he wasn't waiting out at my car," explained Mr. Wayne.
"Do you know if he had his coin?" asked the boys foster dad.
"Yes, he has it. He was playing with it on the way over to Doctor Doug's. He was trying to fold it back and forth between his fingers. ... I'm sorry Mr. Ken. I ... I should have stayed with him when he went to the restroom, but he did it last week, as have all the other boys," said the exasperated Estate Master.
After Matthew used the restroom, he was headed back to Doctor Doug's office when he heard someone call out his name. He looked around the corner only to see his mom standing there. She took him into the far off women's restroom, so no one would see them talking.
"Mom ... what are you doing here? I thought ... I thought you were trying to get supervised visits?" asked a very surprised Matthew.
"Oh, honey, I missed you so much. So, I just had to see you and talk to you," replied Grace.
"But ... won't you get into trouble? How did you know I was here?" asked her son.
"No one will ever know about us meeting if you don't say something to anyone. You hear me son, Matthew?" replied a stern sounding Grace Turnsten. "As for how, I knew you were here is ... that I had you followed."
"That man ... the one who passed us last week. I don't know his name, but ... but I'd seen you and Lincoln talking to him before. He was the one, wasn't he, who told you where I was?" asked a surprised young Cover.
"But mom, Mr. Wayne ... he'll be waiting for me. I ... I gotta go, mom, I gotta go, or he'll come looking for me," pleaded Matthew.
"Listen, Matthew ... Lincoln is very pissed at you for telling someone about what he did to you. You shouldn't have talked to anyone where we dropped you off," angrily yelled Grace.
"But mom, you never came back. And you never gave me any money to ... to even buy a hot dog. Then, while I was sitting on the bench, this man ... he came over to me and asked me if I was hungry and I said I was. He had his son buy me a hot dog and soda, and boy did it ever taste good," announced Matthew Turnsten.
"You should have refused the food Matthew! We told you not to move from that bench and you DID! You ungrateful little bastard of a kid!" yelled Grace, as she shook her son.
As she did that, Matthew reached into his pocket to make sure the coin was still there. When his mom saw him put his hand in his pocket she made him show her what he had. He took the coin out and told her it was a special commemorative coin his foster dad had given him and all his 'brothers'.
"You don't have any brothers, Matthew. And you know that. How can he say you now have some?" demanded Grace, as she quickly forgot about the coin.
"They are my foster brother's mom. Mr. Ken ... he takes in kids ... who need a place to stay until their parents get things straightened out. Then, they can leave. One boy though ... his parents ... they are both in jail, so ... so Mr. Ken has adopted him. Boy is Robert ever lucky," explained Matthew.
"Lucky is he? I guess you now want him to adopt you, too. Even though I'm your mom and I can take good care of you. You know that son!" insisted the boy's mom, who then smiled at the boy as only a mother can.
"If you took such good care of me, mom ... why did you let Lincoln beat me so much and ... and so often? I'm just a kid, mom, and you want me to be perfect. Well, I can't be perfect until I'm taught what is right or wrong," argued back the youngest Cover.
While Matthew and his mom talked, or more like began to argue. Mr. Ken called Dan Fischer and told him what was happening. He asked the Sheriff's Lieutenant if he could go and get his other 'sons' from the school. But Dan told him they were probably safer there for now. Ken then asked him if he could escort them home when they got out of school.
Mr. Ken's next phone call was to the Director of CPS. When she heard Matthew was missing Judy Turner demanded Mr. Ken call the Sheriff's office and report it. Ken Thomas told her he'd already talked to Dan and he was on top of that.
In the meantime, Mr. Wayne continued to search around the office building. He also searched the parking lot to look for any vehicle he remembered seeing, that he'd considered, had followed him.
"Matthew, now tell me what you told those people!" commanded Grace Turnsten. "And tell me everything you said!"
"I didn't tell them anything, mom. It was when they touched my back that I flinched and they called the police and then they took me to the hospital. My 'brothers', they were visiting me, when we saw them arrest you and Lincoln," offered Matthew.
"I told you ... you have NO brothers. Now ... I told you to tell me everything you told them!" again demanded Grace, as she shook her son real hard.
"Mom, I didn't have to tell them anything. Once they saw my back, they went looking for you and Lincoln," explained Matthew.
"How did they know who we were unless you told them you ungrateful boy!" yelled Grace, as she began to hit her son.
Matthew began to cry from the way he was being treated by his mom, who had just told him she could take good care of him. He never understood how Mr. Ken was able to get their pictures and the police start looking for her and Lincoln. He felt the coin in his pocket, one more time, but he didn't squeeze it. He was thinking of doing that, but he wasn't sure it would work.
"I TOLD YOU TO TELL ME, Matthew, what you told them," again demanded Grace.
"Mom, I didn't tell them anything. Somehow ... somehow Mr. Ken ... he got your pictures from the video cameras at the miniature golf course where you dropped me off. I don't understand what he did to get them because he didn't tell us, mom. And that's the truth. I never told them anything," began to cry Matthew.
Mr. Ken called Principal Chadwick after talking to Ms. Judy. He explained to the woman that Matthew was missing and he was concerned for his other 'boys'. The principal had told him she could put the school in lock down, but Mr. Ken told her he wanted to keep the media from making a spectacle out of this.
Mr. Ken told her Lt. Fischer said he'd help him out. The principal agreed with the man, as she didn't want a bunch of patrol cars all over the grounds causing a traffic bottleneck at the end of the school day. She just watched for any strange vehicles, or people, approaching the school before the end of the school day.
Grace Turnsten continued to berate her son, and demand he tell her everything he told the police. She also told him that when Lincoln got a hold of him he wouldn't be able to sit down for a week.
It was when the boy's mom told him she agreed with what Lincoln would do to him he began squeezing the coin with is thumb and forefinger as hard as he could, just hoping it would work as his 'dad' had told him.
Lieutenant Fischer had two patrol cars positioned at the school. When the Cover boys school bus left the parking corral they positioned themselves at the front and rear. No one knew why the patrol cars were there, but the squad cars stayed with the school bus until the Cover boys got off at their Bus Stop.
The guards were told what was happening. They were all stationed at the Main Gate and were anxiously awaiting for the boys to return. When they saw the bus pull up, one guard immediately opened the gate while the other two went out to meet the bus.
The two guards kept their hands on their service weapons and looked all around as they escorted the boys into the estate while the third one closed the gate, as soon as they were all inside.
What's this all about?" asked Robert. "What's happened?"
The guards walked the boys down to the Foyer Door where they were met by Mr. Thomas.
"Dad, what's this all about? Did something happen? Is that why we have to be guarded?" continued the man's son.
Mr. Ken told the boys to go to his Study and he'll explain there.
"Boys ... ahh ... its Matthew ... he's ...he's missing," directly spoke 'dad' Ken.
"He's missing? I thought he was with Mr. Wayne at Doctor Doug's?" blurted out Charles.
"He is and he was. It's complicated. But, he went to the restroom, like the rest of you have done, but ... well, he never came back. Mr. Wayne and Doctor Doug searched three floors looking for him. And even Mr. Wayne searched the parking lot looking for the car that followed him last week," explained the boy's 'dad'.
"A car followed them? And you didn't do anything about it?" asked Robert, in a very demanding and determined voice.
"Boys ... when Mr. Wayne saw a vehicle following him last week, he took down the license plate number and we gave it to Mr. Dan. Dan didn't want to do a check right away on the owner, just yet. He told us he didn't want to invade an innocent man's private life unless something became of it.
"Anyway, Mr. Wayne looked all around the parking lot for Matthew. He also searched the lot and he told me he didn't see the car that followed them anywhere in the lot, when he didn't find your 'brother' out there, he went in to talk to Doctor Doug.
"I asked him if he knew if Matthew had his coin. Mr. Wayne said he did, so now we all have to hope he squeezes it, so we know where he is," explained 'dad' Ken. "Now, go and get your snack and let me worry about your 'brother'."
With the way his mom was acting and talking to him, Matthew started squeezing his coin for all his worth. He didn't know what it was really supposed to do, but he hoped it would happen and soon. He did feel it get a bit warm, when the chemical reaction started, as Mr. Ken told them it would. He could only hope the coin would do what it was supposed to do.
"What are you doing inside your pocket? Do you have a cell phone in there?" demanded Grace.
"NO! It's just my coin and my school I.D. I have no money, thanks to you, and no wallet and no cell phone. I've only been with 'dad' Ken for three weeks and ..." was all Matthew got out, before his mom smacked him across his face and then beat him about his head.
"You have NO dad, you hear me? He ran away from us, and if it is up to me you'll never see him ever again," screamed Grace Turnsten.
"He didn't run away from me. He ran away from YOU!" screamed back Matthew, which earned him another smack across his face and head.
Matthew then tried to run away, but his mom had him blocked in the restroom closet and there was only the one door. He squeezed his coin once more.
"Give me that coin, you ungrateful whelp! I'll bet it's worth some money, since your rich 'dad' gave it to you. Now give it to me!" shouted the boy's mom.
"NO! I Won't! It's the only thing someone has ever given me ... for no reason at all," shouted back Matthew, as he shoved his hand inside his pocket to keep him mom from getting it.
Mr. Ken was beside himself and beating himself up over losing Matthew. It was then the phone rang at his desk. He didn't recognize the number, so he ignored it. A minute later it rang again and this time the person left a message.
"Mr. Thomas, this is your factory. We're receiving a signal from one of those coins we sent you. We thought we were going to wait until the Holidays to test them. Call us back, so we know if it is a false alarm or not."
Hearing that message caused Ken Thomas to sit right up and listen to the message one more time. After realizing whom the message was from, he called his factory that made the coins for him.
"Tell me this isn't a joke," was the first thing Ken Thomas said, to the person who answered the phone.
After qualifying that this was not a joke and there definitely was a signal, Mr. Ken asked them how he could get the signal to his computer, so he can help pinpoint the location. The I.T. person told the owner of The Cove what they could do and the I.T. man and Mr. Ken went to work to make it happen. It took the two of them about twenty minutes in order that Mr. Ken could receive the signal over the internet to his computer.
Mr. Ken had the person remain on the phone, as he called Lieutenant Fischer.
"Dan, Dan ... remember me telling you about those coins. Matthew must have activated his as we have a signal from his registered coin. My factory has the signal being sent to my home computer right now. I can track its proximity, from here. It'll take time, but in a little while, we'll also be able to pinpoint exactly where the signal is coming from.
"Dan, we were going to test the coins over the Holidays and fine tune the satellite to the coins. My people at the factory are working on that as we speak. If I give you a general location ... can ... can you have some Deputies' head in that direction? Then, when we have a better location can they head in and do a search?" asked Mr. Ken of his friend.
After Mr. Ken got off the phone with Dan Fischer, he called Wayne and told him to stay where he was. The owner of The Cove explained about the signal and it was stationary, for the time being, and it was in his general vicinity. Mr. Wayne was happy at hearing the coin signal was really working. He just hoped they would find Matthew before he was moved, or even worse, hurt.
It was then 'dad' Ken, being so preoccupied with what he was trying to do, heard his 'boys' at the Study door.
"How long have you been out there?" called out 'dad' Ken.
"Ever since you made the call to your factory," explained Robert.
"Okay then ... you all should come in here and have a seat and wait with me to find out what happens next," suggested 'dad' Ken.
"Can Momma Maria come in with us too?" asked Charles.
"Momma ... you out there, too?" asked a surprised Mr. Ken.
"Yeses, Miesters Kens, the boys says tos mees about yourses nino Matthews beings missinks. Iss prays for hims ands heses safeses returns," offered Momma Maria, with a few tears running down her face.
Mr. Ken went over to the woman and hugged her and thanked her for her prayers. He then showed her which chair she could take. The rest of the boys filled in where ever they could.
It took twenty minutes to focus the satellite to the coins signal, and when that was accomplished the factory gave Ken Thomas the relay. The Cove's owner made another phone call.
While Mr. Ken was talking to Lt. Fischer, the Foyer Doorbell rang. Robert knew who it was so he went to answer it. When he came back, Ms. Judy and Eric walked into the Study with him. The twins got up out of their shared chair and offered it to the CPS Director.
Mr. Ken recognized Ms. Judy with a nod, and a wave, but he was on the phone with Lt. Fischer and didn't want to break his concentration. Ms. Judy understood what he was doing as she was brought up to speed by Robert.
"Dan, the signal ... it looks like it is still coming from Doug Jennings's office building. Matthew must still be in there and maybe he's hurt. I'll have Robert call Wayne, to let him know the signal was centered in that area," Mr. Ken relayed to his friend Dan.
While the two men talked, Robert heard what his dad said, so he quickly called Mr. Wayne to tell him what his dad and Mr. Dan were discussing. The two Covers talked as Mr. Wayne made another sweep of the building. Then, as Wayne Mitchell described what he was doing, Robert was relaying it to the people in the Study.
In the meantime, Sheriff's Lieutenant Dan Fischer dispatched some squad cars to the area to help sweep the office building. When the call went out, that a number of patrol cars were headed to one location, the media picked it up and headed to where the police cars were directed.
"This is Rene Vaughn, from KBLY-TV outside a medical office building where the Sheriff Deputies have been dispatched to. The only thing we know, for now, is that six patrol cars have been dispatched here. From what we have heard over the radio, the patrol cars are being sent here without using light and sirens.
"The only thing this reporter can surmise is that they are trying not to notify whomever they are after that they are coming. This reporter will try to talk to the on-scene commander and ask them what this is all about."
"Dad, Rene Vaughn ... she's at the office building. Should I call Mr. Wayne and tell him?" asked The Cove's resident teenager. The teen's dad told him to go ahead.
"Mr. Wayne, the TV people are outside. If you find Matthew maybe you can leave the building without them knowing why," suggested Robert.
When the Sheriff's Deputies arrived they entered the building, and when some media reporters tried to follow them they were rebuffed to stay outside. While two deputies stationed themselves at the main entrances to the building, the other four deputies' met up with Mr. Wayne. The Estate Master told them where he and Doctor Jennings already searched. The officers thanked him for his help and they began to search in their own way.
Mr. Wayne continued to follow along and search with the deputies. They had a voice that was much more authoritative and louder than Mr. Wayne's was. And since he'd been searching and calling out Matthew's name for at least an hour, or maybe longer, his voice was feeling the stress.
Grace Turnsten had heard Wayne Mitchell calling for Matthew, and she immediately held her hand over the boy's mouth. She didn't want her son to reveal himself, as to where he was. The game changed when she recognized the deeper, authoritative voices of the Sheriff's Deputies, which must have been brought into help in the search for her son.
Grace Turnsten had no idea how they knew she and Matthew were still in the office building. But, she told herself she was not going to take any chances. She began thinking of a way out and how to do it.
"Matthew, how do they know you are here in this building? Tell me ... before I strangle you right here and now, you, little shit for brains," yelled a very angry Grace Turnsten, as she shook her son again.
"When I know they are off this floor ... we're going to go down the fire escape and get to my car. And don't you dare yell ... or when you and I finally get together again you are DEAD! You hear me? D-E-A-D, you piece of shit!" a very angry mom told her one and only son, as she slapped him one more time.
"This is Rene Vaughn from KBLY-TV reporting from a large office building were we are still trying to learn why there are six deputies here searching this building that is primarily occupied by medical professionals.
"No one from the Sheriff's Office will answer our questions. It's as if they are trying to keep the public from learning there is something totally wrong here," intimated Rene Vaughn, over the TV station's channel.
As the deputies were walking throughout the office building and opening every door they worked as fast they dared. They told people they came across to remain in the rooms until told otherwise. Wayne Mitchell had told them he checked the restrooms, so they didn't bother checking either the men's or woman's restrooms.
The four deputies eventually met up again with Wayne on Doctor Doug's office floor. They asked him if he'd heard anything more about the location of Matthew. Mr. Wayne pulled out his cell phone and called Robert and asked him if there was any more information they could give them. When he got the update he told the deputies.
"They say Matthew's signal is still centered in this building. I guess the question, since we've supposedly checked all of the rooms, is where he could be. I checked all of the men's restrooms, since that was where he was going the last time I talked with him," relayed the Estate Master.
"Did you ever check the women's restrooms?" asked a deputy.
"NO, no, I didn't, but ... now that you mention it ... Matthew's mom ... she's been out on bail and has been trying to talk to him. She was told to go through the courts to ask for supervised visits. I wonder ..." tailed off Mr. Wayne, as he started to run towards the nearest women's restroom.
Since Wayne had already ran to go to check that floors two women's restrooms, the four deputies also ran to check the women's restrooms, but they all headed to different floors.
"Matthew ... are you in here?" called out a hoarse Wayne Mitchell. "Matthew, Matthew are you hurt? Bang on something if you can hear me?" yelled Mr. Wayne as best he could.
The Estate Master checked every stall and the closet in that restroom and not finding the young Cover he headed to the other woman's restroom on the other side of that floor.
"Matthew ... are you in here?" called out Mr. Wayne, as his voice was giving out. "Matthew make some noise if you can hear me!"
That was when Matthew decided he had to fight his mom and hope Mr. Wayne would help him get away. The young Cover pushed himself against his mom in the bathroom closet where they were hiding and that made a loud noise. It also caused his mom to start to beat on him.
With her hand now off his mouth, Matthew began yelling for Mr. Wayne to help him. Mr. Wayne didn't immediately go to him. He didn't know what he would be facing, so he pulled out his cell phone and went out into the hallway and called Robert.
"Dad, dad ... Mr. Wayne found Matthew ... but he wants us to have the deputies to go to Doctor Doug's floor. He says he doesn't know who has him, but there is only one exit and he's right there," Robert relayed to his dad.
"Dan, Wayne found Matthew on Doug's floor, but someone is holding him and he doesn't want to chance it. He wants your men to meet him on Doug's floor," was what Mr. Ken told Lt. Fischer.
Dan knew the media was at the building trying to find out why his deputies were there. So, he used his cell phone and told the lead deputy where to head and for him to yell for the others to go there too while he tried to contact them as well.
Soon, the four Sheriff Deputies met Mr. Wayne at the women's restroom where he indicated that Matthew was being held. The four Sheriff Deputies discussed how to proceed and then they put their plan in action.
When the four men entered the women's restroom they called out for Matthew, but there was no answer. That concerned them greatly, so they quickly checked the toilet stalls, but didn't see anyone. They then noticed a closet and one deputy knocked on the door.
"Sheriff's Deputy, come out with your hands up!" called out the lead officer.
Then, they all heard a faint "Help me!" and then a sharp noise as if someone had fallen over.
Hearing that noise got the four men's attention. Two deputies immediately covered the closet door with their service guns drawn. The other two deputies also drew their service weapons, as well, and got ready to put their plan into action.
The Sheriff Deputies, with their guns drawn, and pointed at the closet, quickly and deliberately pulled the closet door opened. What they saw was a frightened youngster with a women's hand across his mouth and her other hand on his crotch squeezing his 'boy parts', in order to keep him quiet.
The deputies quickly pulled the woman's hands away from the boy's face and crotch and shoved her out to the other two waiting deputies. Matthew immediately asked, through his tears, where Mr. Wayne was, so the deputies called out for Mr. Wayne to come into the restroom.
"Mr. Wayne, Mr. Wayne," cried Matthew, as he ran to the man. "She ... she told me she would kill me ... that ... that she would kill me when we get back together again if I made any noise so you could find me," bawled the youngster.
Mr. Wayne quickly called Robert to tell him they have Matthew, as he held onto the crying boy.
"Dad ... dad ... they have Matthew," yelled out a joyous Robert.
All the boys along with Momma Maria and Ms. Judy yelled for joy. The boys then hugged one another while they jumped and danced around.
"Son," began one of the Deputies, "how was it they knew where you were?"
Matthew looked up at Mr. Wayne, through his teary eyes, looking to see if he should answer. Mr. Wayne shook his head that he shouldn't.
"It would be good to know for the future, so that we could use it the next time someone like yourself goes missing," continued the deputy.
"I can't tell you. She's still here," said Matthew, as he pointed to his mom. "She told me she would kill me if I made a sound, so you could find me. I don't want her to know how my 'dad', Mr. Ken, could find me."
Hearing Mr. Ken's name being used, the deputy decided not to pursue the issue. Two of the deputies took the now handcuffed woman out of the restroom leaving the other two deputies, Mr. Wayne and Matthew in the restroom.
"Can you tell me now?" inquired the deputy, who initially asked how they knew the boy was there.
"Well, my 'dad' ... he gave us these coins ..." was all Matthew got out, before interrupted by Mr. Wayne.
"He gave all of his foster boys these coins as good luck pieces. And he knew Matthew was here at his doctor's appointment. And, since I never saw him leave, Mr. Thomas just knew that his foster son, Matthew, was still in here," added the Estate Master.
"We'll need you to come down to Headquarters for a statement. We want to get to the bottom of this, so it won't ever happen again," said the lead deputy.
"Officer ... ahh, it there a way we can, you know, possibly meet you there ... later? The news media are out front and if they see us leave with you it ... it will only cause more questions that Mr. Thomas doesn't need to have to answer right now.
"You do know that two of Mr. Ken's other foster sons were almost kidnapped back during Halloween. This second attempted kidnapping could only give the media a reason to cause trouble for him where there is none.
"I promise we will be there later this evening, or maybe ... maybe Lt. Matthias and Sgt. Roberts can come over to The Cove after dinner to interview Matthew," suggested The Cove's Estate Master, Wayne Mitchell.
The two deputies talked about what Mr. Wayne suggested. It was then the lead deputy called Lt. Fischer for some directions.
Three minutes later, the lead deputy told Wayne that they would take Grace Turnsten over to Headquarters and process her. He also told Mr. Wayne that Lt. Matthias and Sgt. Roberts would stop by The Cove after dinner to interview Matthew. The deputy added they should wait about thirty minutes to allow the media to leave the scene, so they could get away without answering questions.
Mr. Wayne thanked the deputy then he and Matthew went back to Doctor Doug's office to wait. When Doug Jennings learned that Matthew had been found and was out in his reception area he went out there to see him.
"Matthew, you gave us a scare, young man. Can you tell me what happened and where you were," asked Doctor Jennings.
"My ... my mom ... she ..." started Matthew, when the doctor held up his hand which told him to wait.
"Wayne, it might be good if I talk to Matthew, you know, about what just happened, for maybe a half an hour, or so. It might be good to get a handle on this before it causes problems for the boy," offered Doctor Doug.
Wayne Mitchell quickly pulled out his cell phone and called Mr. Ken. He told him what Doctor Jennings suggested and wanted to know if he would approve of that. Getting his employers approval, Mr. Wayne told Matthew that his 'dad' wanted him to talk to the doctor for a few minutes to get ahead of what just happened to him.
Matthew reluctantly went with Doctor Doug, but said he understood why as he walked into the interview room. Mr. Wayne decided to stay there in the waiting area and wait for the boy. About 30 minutes later, Matthew and Doctor Doug came out of the room laughing.
"It sounds like you got a good start on what happened," offered Mr. Wayne.
"Yes, sir, I'm glad Mr. Ken had me talk to Doctor Doug today instead of waiting until next week. Thank you Doctor Doug," said Matthew, as he hugged the man.
When the two Covers exited the office building, Rene Vaughn was still outside. She noticed them walking out and went over to talk to them. She asked them what they knew about what happened in the building. Matthew spoke up and told the television news reporter that he had a doctor's appointment and were made to stay in the waiting room.
Ms. Vaughn didn't recognize Wayne Mitchell as one of Mr. Ken's employees and bought their story. The two Covers quickly walked over to a car and got into Mr. Wayne's vehicle and headed back to The Cove.
The Cover boys couldn't wait until their 'brother' got home. And, when Matthew finally entered the house, they mobbed him with hugs and pats on his back. Then, when The Cove's youngest Cover saw his 'dad', he ran to him with tears in his eyes.
"She told me ... she told me she was going to kill me, 'dad'" cried out Matthew, as he hugged the man for dear life
Both Ms. Judy and Momma Maria put their hands to their mouths at hearing that revelation. The boys were just as shocked as the women were. The boys then went to their 'dad' and 'brother' and joined them in creating a group hug.
When her boss and his 'son' broke out of the group hug, Momma Maria went over to Matthew and hugged him tight. "Mys ninos ... Iss prayses fors yours safees returnses ands heres yous ares. Momma wills makes yous a Momma's specials desserts fors yous fors tomorrows."
Momma Maria hugged the new eleven year old and left the Study with tears in her eyes.
Ms. Judy asked Matthew to tell her everything that happened. That was what everyone else in the Study wanted as well. Mr. Wayne told his employer that Lt. Matthias and Sgt. Roberts would be there after dinner to interview Matthew. He wondered aloud if Matthew should tell them before he talked to the detectives.
Mr. Ken thought about that for a few moments and then asked Matthew if he wanted to talk about it and get it out now, with his 'brothers' and Ms. Judy, present, or did he want to wait until later when the detectives were here.
Matthew said he'd already talked about what happened with Doctor Doug. He added that the doctor told him the more he talks about it the easier it will be to remember, especially if he has to say it in court. So, the boy started from the top and told those gathered his story.
