Three Finger Cove: The Twins ~ Book Four

Chapter Forty~Seven

Ken and Wayne talked about the responsibilities that Wayne would have over the lads when the owner of The Cove was gone. Wayne told Ken that he appreciated the opportunity that the man was giving him. Wayne also said that he had a positive experience when he'd been around the boys before, and now, after being with the boys at SeaWorld yesterday and later that evening, he said he was leaning more towards accepting Mr. Ken's offer. Wayne did ask Ken about the legal ramifications of his watching over the foster kids. He wanted to know what kind of liability or responsibility he would have while Mr. Ken was gone.

Mr. Ken told Wayne that he had talked to Judy on the bus on Saturday and explained to her what he had in mind for him being a responsible adult at The Cove, while he was gone. Ken told Wayne that he would set him up with a special power of attorney in case he needed to pick up any of the boys at school, have to take them to a doctor appointment, and/or if they got injured he would be able to take them to the hospital for treatment. Ken told Wayne that Judy, as Director of Children's Protective Services, would issue Wayne foster parent credentials after he completed the training course.

Wayne was surprised at all the things that needed to be done in order for him to watch over the boys while Mr. Ken was out of the house or out of the area. Ken assured Wayne that these were all necessary. The man told Wayne that he is only the temporary guardian of the lads and that as his stand-in, Wayne would need to have the same authority with the boys, so that everything would be legal. Wayne thanked Ken for all that information and for talking with him. Wayne said he thought it was time to go to bed and he would see him in the morning.

The twins set their alarm clock for 8 AM. They would have liked to have slept more but they knew 'Dad Ken' wanted to be gone early and they didn't want to make him mad by not being ready to go by 9 AM. They got right out of bed when the alarm rang and they headed to their bathroom to get cleaned up. They dressed in good school clothes and headed down to the Kitchen Nook to catch up with Mr. Ken.

"Morning, 'dad'," offered Kyle.

"Good Morning, 'Dad' Ken," said Kevin. "Are we eating here or are you going to stop along the way so we can get breakfast late?"

"I take it you want to eat along the way?" chuckled Mr. Ken.

"Yes, 'Dad' Ken, Mama Maria makes great breakfasts, but it sure is nice to eat someplace different for a change," said Kevin.

"Okay, boys we'll do just that. Let me go change and we will meet out here in the Kitchen Nook. Let's be ready to go at 9 AM," said Mr. Ken.

Just as Mr. Ken and the twins were going to head off to San Antonio to visit their mom, Robert and Charles came down to the Kitchen Nook.

"Drive safe, 'dad," said Robert as he went over to hug his 'dad'.

"Yeah, we want you back here in one piece," said a smiling Charles, as he too went over and hugged his 'dad'.

The 'brothers' said their goodbyes to one another and the three Covers walked out into the garage. The twins automatically went to the F-150 truck, but Mr. Ken didn't. He went to the Lincoln Navigator which surprised the twins.

"We've never taken this car before, 'dad'," said Kyle.

"Very true, lads, that's because we always have five and this will only hold four comfortably. Yes, it will seat five but those in the back are tight. Plus, I need to get this out on the road to exercise it some. So, load up and let's get this show on the road, boys," explained 'dad' Ken.

Kevin called 'shotgun' and got in the front seat. Kyle then announced he got the front seat on the way home. Mr. Ken laughed at the lads as he remembered back when Robert and Eric rode with him one time and Eric called 'shotgun' over Robert.

Once everyone was seated, Mr. Ken made sure the boys were buckled in before he hit the garage door opener button. Once the garage door was completely open the owner of The Cove backed the Navigator out of the space and drove forward to head out the Main Gate. They were off to BAMC to visit the twin's mom.

Mr. Wayne was out in the Kitchen Nook when Mr. Ken and the twins left for San Antonio. He saw the way the two older Covers reacted to their 'dad' leaving them and knew there was something good going on between the man and boys. Wayne knew there was much love and respect being shared between them, at that moment, and he could see the boys looked up to the man they called 'dad'.

Wayne looked to the two lads left at The Cove and said, "It's just past nine and your friends don't arrive until around noon. So, how about we get dressed and go over to the Four Corners Diner for breakfast?

Charles looked at Robert and the two older boys got great big smiles on their faces. It was Charles who said, "What are we waiting for?"

As Mr. Ken drove to San Antonio, he and the twins talked. Mr. Ken wanted to know how their 'problem' was working out between them. Kyle looked to Kevin to answer since he was the one who had the 'problem' with him. Kevin shrugged as he looked to Mr. Ken. Mr. Ken reached over to the lad's knee and squeezed it some and that brought a giggle to Kevin's face. Mr. Ken asked the older twin to tell him how things were between him and his brother.

Kevin looked to the man and said, "I think it is going alright. We did talk some. I'm trying not to be so critical of Kyle. I know we are two different people and we look at things differently. I guess I've been the leader for so long that I just want it to stay that way. But Kyle, he has his own ideas and, well, I have to let him do what he wants to do, too."

"Like when he calls me 'dad' and you want him to continue to call me 'dad Ken'" asked Mr. Ken.

Kevin smiled at the question knowing that was the biggest problem he had with his twin. He again looked to Mr. Ken and said, "Yeah ... I don't want him to 'diss' our real dad, but ... well, we talked, and he told me why he calls you just 'dad' and ... well, I guess he is right. Our dad does, well he did, spend more time with me than him because of what we did, you know, on Sundays.

"I know Kyle felt left out and ... and I know he loves our dad, but ... when I look back at what we did then I ... I'm now glad he didn't go with us. I didn't think there was anything wrong with what we did but ...." Kevin never finished as he began to cry.

Kyle quickly reached over the seat and tried to comfort his twin but the seatbelt only gave so much in the backseat, so he couldn't really get a hold of his twin to help settle him down. Mr. Ken thought that was a good time for him to pull over and get them some breakfast, so he turned into a fast food restaurant.

Mr. Wayne and the two oldest Covers went over to the Four Corners Diner for breakfast. The wait staff were surprised that Mr. Ken hadn't brought the boys and they didn't know who this man was who did bring the lads.

"Hello, Ms. Jeanie, this is Mr. Wayne," offered Charles. "He's our 'dad's go-to man when he can't be with us," added Charles.

"Oh, so we'll be seeing you over here more often, then?" asked Jeanie.

"Well, that's to be seen, Jeanie. Mr. Ken is arranging it for me to be his stand-in adult, as he calls it, when he has to be elsewhere. Today he's taking the twins down to San Antonio to visit their parents, so I get to enjoy the facilities at The Cove, and keep tabs on these two," laughed Wayne.

"That sounds like a great opportunity," said Jeanie. "I wonder if he's looking for a woman to fill in for him, then, too."

Robert and Charles looked at one another and shared that 'knowing smile' knowing that their 'dad' wouldn't hire a woman to watch over them unless that was his last choice. Neither lad said a word, but their dual smiles told Jeanie that it would never happen.

"OK, gentlemen, what can I get you for breakfast?" recovered Jeanie.

After Mr. Ken stopped the car, he pulled Kevin to him and held the boy. He told the older twin that he needs to talk to Doctor Doug about his feelings about what he and his dad did together. The man told the lad that none of that was his fault. Mr. Ken explained that, just like Robert, it was his dad's responsibility to do what was right and not to use his son to enrich himself. Kevin thanked 'Dad Ken' for talking to him and then said he was hungry.

Mr. Ken got his two lads into the Taco Bell restaurant and the three Covers looked over the breakfast menu. The boys had no idea what those breakfast names meant so they asked Mr. Ken to explain it to them. The man was just as perplexed, so he asked the lady behind the cash register to please explain what each item was.

The Covers wound up ordering a Breakfast Crunchwrap Combo, a Grande Scrambler Combo and a Breakfast Quesadilla Combo and three drinks. Mr. Ken picked up three knives and forks and told the boys they'd cut and share, so they all knew what the other had gotten. The lads liked that idea.

The other Cover lads, along with their 'stand-in parent', got their regular breakfast meals; they didn't share. They did talk about their SeaWorld adventure, though. The Cover lads wanted to know how Mr. Wayne saw the day. Mr. Wayne said he hadn't been to an amusement park in ages and going there was a blast. He did tell the boys that he was a bit concerned at first at how the boys would accept him, but after their talk on the bus and as they walked through the haunted areas he felt more at ease around them.

Robert and Charles told the man they liked it when he'd been there with them and he was a lot like their 'dad' when it came to doing things with them. They told him that they told their 'dad' they only wanted a man to be his stand-in and that they had smiled when Jeanie asked if Mr. Ken would ever consider a woman. Mr. Wayne told them they were 'Bad' for doing that, but said he understood after what Ms. Johnston had done.

The traveling Covers took a good forty minute break as they ate breakfast and talked about what they were going to tell their mom. 'Dad Ken' reminded them not to say anything to their mom about the potential trouble their dad may be in. He added he wanted them to try to keep all their discussions about their SeaWorld trip, Kyle's broken arm, and their friends who come over to play. The twins said they'd try to remember to do just that.

The stay at home Covers', and Mr. Wayne, got back to The Cove around 11:30 AM. They'd taken their time eating, talking and joking with Jeanie and were having a good time when Mr. Wayne noticed the time and said they had to get back so they were there when their friends came by.

After Wayne Mitchell and the Cover lads he was responsible for finished breakfast and went directly back to The Cove, the man parked his car. Robert and Charles got their skateboards out and asked Mr. Wayne to try them out to see if he could use one or the other. They wanted him to get his 'board legs' back before the rest of the guys showed up. Mr. Wayne did indeed try each skateboard and found Robert's was a bit easier to use, but he said he still liked Logan's better.

Mr. Wayne, along with Robert and Charles, rode the ramps until the boys' friends began to arrive. The twelve and thirteen-year-olds arrived at around twelve noon as usual. Of course Sam and Terran came over as well and so did Dominic and Wyatt. With the eleven-year-old twins and their friends, not there that day it was back to old times with the smaller number of skaters using the ramps.

The new arrivals watched Mr. Wayne do some interesting tricks on Robert's board and clapped when he did something they'd only seen on the internet. The boys asked him where he learned to do those kinds of tricks and he told them from the internet. Everyone had a good laugh over that.

Mr. Wayne did tell the boys that he did a lot of skating when he was younger and kept at it some while he was in college. He told them that was his entertainment as going to the movies and buying beer was not in his budget. The lads laughed some more.

The boys wanted him to show them more of the tricks he could do and then teach them, but Mr. Wayne told the lads he had laundry to get started and would be out later to check up on them. The lads thanked him for being there, today, otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to come over. Mr. Wayne waved to the lads as he went inside to start his laundry.

When Mr. Ken got to the entrance gate to the Brooke Army Medical Center, (BAMC) he knew to stop and give his information to the guard before continuing. The man at the gate that day was someone who'd been there when the owner of The Cove went through before, so the two talked some. The guard wanted to know how the twins' parents were doing and when the boys would get back with their parents. Mr. Ken told the man that the broken bones would be healed long before they got all their burns taken care of. The gate guard wished the lads well and allowed them to proceed.

Mr. Ken told the lads to visit the restroom before they headed up to the Burn Unit to see their mom. They knew the drill when they arrived at the unit where their mom was located. They asked the nurse for the smaller garb to put on and before they knew it they were walking into their mom's hospital room.

"My sons ... they finally came to visit me," cried Vivian, as she held her arms open for both lads to take one so she could hug them both.

"I've missed you so much my sons," offered a teary-eyed Vivian. "And what's this? You... you broke your arm and you didn't even call me to tell me!"

"Sorry, mom, it happened when I tried to show off by riding my bike on the ramps. I slipped off the edge and, well, you can see the damage," explained Kyle.

"But, why didn't you call me?" persisted mom Vivian.

"We get so busy at The Cove, mom, we just didn't think about calling you" offered Kevin. "I'm sorry, I guess I should have thought about it but ... I know that's no excuse, but we are sorry, mom," said a subdued Kevin.

"Well, the good thing is you came to visit me and your dad," said Vivian. "I bet he is missing you just as much as I am. Now, tell me what you've been up to."

The twins told their mom all about their SeaWorld trip that Saturday. The boys talked over one another as they told her what they'd done since they were in separate groups. Their mom wondered why they didn't stick together as twins. It was then that Kevin told her that Mr. Ken wanted them to develop their own personality and friends that she got mad.

"What does he mean splitting you both up like that. You're twins and should be together all the time," the woman complained.

"No, mom, it is best we develop our own personality," spoke up Kyle. "Mr. Ken said we'll always be brothers and twins and that already made us special, but he wanted us to make our own friends and to have some brotherly competition at school."

"What, he has you in separate classrooms?" almost yelled Vivian Parchsons.

"Yes, mom, we ARE in separate classrooms, too," replied Kyle. "I like it that way, too, mom. This way Kevin isn't always telling on me what I did or didn't do at school. I am more relaxed in school and I think I am even doing better, mom. I know Kevin isn't there and I can be myself, now."

"I think I need to talk to your Mr. Ken," said a flustered mom, Vivian.

"No, mom, you don't need to talk to him. We both like what he's doing. We have our own friends, but we get to play with all of them when they come over. We eat real good with Momma Maria's cooking and Mr. Ken takes us to drive the Go-Karts and we've played miniature golf, too. He owns both places, but we have to wait our turn because it isn't right that we go ahead of people who've already been waiting.

"Mom, we still share a bedroom, but we have our own beds to sleep in. Occasionally, we still sleep together, but since we're both growing it is nice to be able to spread out and find a cool spot when we turn over. And, mom, we have the third best view of the lake from our bedroom," spoke up Kevin, as he defended Mr. Ken and explained why she doesn't need to talk to their foster dad.

As the twins were talking to their mom, Mr. Ken had a visitor out in the Burn Unit lounge. Joel Carrier came by to talk to the man to update him on the investigation. He introduced him to his partner, Jose Cortez, and then asked him if he could have Kevin look at some grade school yearbooks pictures to try to positively identify the other boys involved with those Sunday get-togethers. Ken said he had some time to let the twin look through the pictures and hoped the lad could find someone he could identify. The men talked while they waited for the twins to come out of their mom's hospital room.

"Mom ... yesterday, Mr. Ken ... he took us out to get us our Halloween costumes," started Kyle.

"Yeah, mom, I'm going as a funny dressed up clown, complete with big shoes, a wild wig, a big candy sucker, and wild colors," explained Kevin.

"And me. I'm going as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. I'll be wearing a huge hat, orange hair, white gloves, a zany bow tie, knee-high pants, and the two different socks," was how Kyle described his costume.

"Who's taking you out Trick-or-Treating?" Vivian Parchsons wanted to know.

"Our older 'brother's', Robert and Charles, are taking us. They're even wearing costumes, too, mom," said an enthused Kevin.

And before Vivian Parchsons could ask her sons about calling the two older boys, brothers, Kyle spoke up and said, "Yeah, Charles got a costume, too, and it has fade-in and fade-out eyes, a long black robe, an attached hood, and gloves, and it will make him look like the grim reaper. He even has a large black handled and silver colored scythe. Of course, it's made of plastic."

"Oh, and Robert is going as a psycho clown. He'll have a black and white striped shirt and pants, a ring of skulls around the collar of the shirt and it also has a horrifying clown and melting zombie face mask and wild red clown hair," added Kevin.

"What's this you calling those two older boys your brothers? Tell me, has your Mr. Ken told you to call these older boys you brother? I don't like it you calling these older boys who are not related to you your brother," said the highly irritated mother.

"No, no, mom, he doesn't make us call Robert and Charles our 'brothers' it's ... well, it is something all the boys call each other there," said Kyle.

"Wait, what... there are more boys living there than what he showed me that first time?" quickly asked Vivian.

"No, no mom..." started out Kevin, but was interrupted by his mom.

"DON'T you 'NO' mom, me, you hear me!" yelled Ms. Parchsons, loud enough she could almost be beard out at the nurses' station.

"Let us explain," said Kevin.

"OK, I'll let you explain this to me. Then I'll have a word with your Mr. Ken," angrily said Vivian.

"Mom, back when Mr. Ken fostered Collin, the boy had a friend, Ryan. They called each other 'brother'. Then when Robert and Charles came to live with Mr. Ken the older teens called the two new boys their 'brother', too. So, when we arrived there Robert and Charles called us their 'brother', as well," began Kevin.

Then Kyle spoke up and said, "Yeah, mom, it's something they did because none of them had a real brother they could call their 'brother'. We're all 'brothers' there mom. And it is nice to know we both have older boys, our 'brothers', we can go to and talk with and not have to go to Mr. Ken all the time when we have a question."

"And Mr. Ken did NOT tell us to call Robert and Charles 'brother'. It was something they do there and they explained it to us and we agreed," added Kevin.

As the twins and their mom discussed the term 'brother' and how it is used at The Cove, Ken Thomas, and Joel Carrier were still talking out in the Burn Unit's visitor's lounge. Detective Carrier told Mr. Ken he was gathering more and more information about the group of men and boys who were at those Sunday meetings with Parker Parchsons. The detective explained he wanted to get as much evidence as he could before they lowered the boom on the group as a whole.

"You see, Ken, that is why I want to have Kevin look at some pictures. I think I've identified some of the lads Kevin mentioned when I was at your place. Now, if I can get Kevin to I.D. them with these pictures, I will round them up and talk to them and hopefully gather even more material that will put the noose even further around all those men's necks. Our DA is looking forward to prosecuting these men, but he needs, well, he actually wants, as many witnesses as he can get to make it an open and shut case.

"I figure with Kevin identifying these lads and we get to interview them, we can learn the identities of the men who take them to these Sunday get-togethers. It should snowball from there and within two weeks there should be a massive round-up of suspects and charges filed on all those men," explained Joel Carrier."

"Joel ... let me ask you ... what will become of the twins? Will they ... have to testify? I'd really appreciate it if you could spare them that ordeal. Also, what about their mom? Have you interviewed her yet?" asked a curious Mr. Ken.

"Funny you should ask that, Ken. I actually was going to do that today, but, well, with the twins wanting to visit their mom I thought ... I figured, I'd let that happen before I lower the boom on her by asking her what she knows about the extra-curricular activities of her husband. As I see it, depending on how our interview goes with Vivian Parchsons, this could, unfortunately, very well be the last time the twins get to visit either of their parents," clarified Joel Carrier

"We sure hope that is NOT the case, but she has enjoyed the 'fruits' of what Parker Parchsons, and their son, has brought home," began Detective Cortez, "and we need to learn what she knows and why she didn't put a stop to it. It is a bit more complicated than that, for us, but essentially that is where we are at right now. We need to get her talking to us, about her husband, and if she doesn't then ... well, that won't bode well for her."

"I do not envy you having to do the job you are doing, but at the same time, I would like to spare the boys having to testify, if we can. Losing their parents this way will not be good for them. I already have a teenager who lost his parents for doing exactly what Parker is supposed to have done with Kevin and those other lads. I wonder ... I wonder if Frank Harrison can put any light on this matter. Robert's dad did the same thing with him and Robert believes Parker Parchsons was one of the initial men who took him to places here in Texas," speculated Ken Thomas.

The three men continued to talk about what Frank Harrison did with his own son, Robert, and the potential for Parker following in his footsteps. It was then Mr. Ken remembered something the twins told him the last time they came to visit their parents.

The owner of The Cove told the two detectives that when they visited the boy's home the last time he tried to gain access to the Parchsons' computer, but he couldn't find the password. The man told the detectives that it was then that Kevin told him that his dad kept the password on his cell phone. Mr. Ken politely mentioned that if they could get access to Parker's cell phone, somehow, they could get into the man's computer and possibly learn lots more about the man's activities and what he was doing with the boys. Joel looked to Jose and the two men smiled at hearing that information.

At The Cove, the boys skated and talked as they usually did. "It feels good without all the younger kids here today, don't you think?" said Cody.

"Can you imagine if Mr. Ken were to get another foster kid how crowded these ramps will get," laughed Chuck.

"Guys, we'd just have to deal with it. Maybe we can share the ramps and the indoor pool with the younger kids," offered Charles.

"Naw," said Logan, "it wouldn't be fun then when we are in the pool. The younger kids make it fun when they are there. We just need to figure out what else we can do."

The teens and pre-teens talked about it and the only thing they could come up with was asking Mr. Ken to build more ramps. That was immediately shot down by Robert telling them they had a difficult time trying to figure out where to place the ramps they had. One of the lads suggested building more ramps and putting them down at the bottom of the driveway that ended before the overrun to the beach.

Robert spoke up again and told his friends that his 'dad' would never go for that either. The teen said his 'dad' wanted to keep the front area looking clean. He reminded them that they once skated out there, but his 'dad' had told him on the side that he didn't want to see lots of marks all over the concrete. That was another suggestion shot down.

As the lads shared the ramps they continued to think of ways they could get more ramps to use. The only one that made any sense, to them, was they needed a whole new paved area so they could build more ramps for everyone to use. Of course, the one all the boys looked to was Robert to bring that idea up to his 'dad'. All Robert could do was say he'd think about it.

The twins finally got their mom settled down over them calling Robert and Charles their 'brothers'. Both Kevin and Kyle told their mom they thought it was great they had two older 'brothers' to show them stuff and keep them busy. Kevin even told Vivian how Robert would come to wake them up for school before 'Dad Ken' bought them an annoying alarm clock and put it away from the bed, so they had to get out of bed to turn it off. That made their mom laugh at that since she was the one who usually woke them up to go to school.

The twins continued to tell their mom about all the things they were involved in. They told her about their school and how they got their classrooms mixed up that first day and had to go out in the hall so their teachers could see how they could identify them for one another. They told her about the Lock-Down and how they had to get under their seats until the All-Clear was given. Then they told her what they knew about why the Lock-Down was called.

"Boys... come over here and stand next to each other. I think you've grown some," laughed mom Parchsons.

It was then that Vivian Parchsons did notice that her boys had indeed grown some and that Kyle was a smidgen taller than his twin, Kevin, who was a bit taller than his twin before the accident. Vivian pointed it out to them and Kevin got a sour look on his face as he came to realize as the older brother he was no longer the taller one. Vivian told the lad that those things happen and in a few months he could be much taller than his brother. Hearing that put a smile on him.

Then their mom asked them how well they had been eating. Both lads jumped in and told her how well Momma Maria cooks for them and then named a few of the things she had prepared. Then, they told their mom about the fresh baked cookies and very cold chocolate milk, but they harped on how Momma Maria made banana pudding with vanilla wafers in it and then how she made vanilla milk for them as some of their after-school snacks before they go up to do their homework.

Vivian felt a bit remorseful after hearing the types of after-school snacks the boys had because all she used to do was get store bought cookies when she thought of it and milk but never fresh cookies or pudding, even. But she was also interested in why they did their homework while it was still light out so she asked them.

"Mom, none of our friends can come over during the week. Also, we've been real busy with 'Dad Ken' and our 'brothers' and, well, we never thought to ask if they could come over after school. When they do come over, many of them have their parents drive them there as only a few live close enough they can ride their bikes from their house," explained Kevin.

"Besides, mom, we can swim in the indoor pool with our 'brothers' and 'Dad Ken' when we have the time, but ... well, 'Dad' Ken and Robert ... they had to go to court ..." and before Kyle could finish Vivian Parchsons went off.

"What do they mean allowing my sons to live with a man and an older boy who has to go to court?" roared Vivian.

"No, mom, let me finish," cried out Kyle. "The lady who used to work for Mr. Ken attacked Robert and she was fired. She then sued 'Dad Ken' for her job back. Then, Robert sued her for attacking him and beating him and leaving him with bruises and welts all over his body that lasted a week. You should have seen the spoon the woman used on Robert. It was almost 2 feet long. They had their lawyer come to the house and they prepared for the trial, so we couldn't do too much after school those days."

"Dad Ken' is a busy man, mom," stated Kevin. "He's building a new office building and a hotel and he even showed us the plans. He let us take them to the floor and look them over and then he explained all the symbols to us. He told us what he planned for the office building. He is even going to have a 'get-away' home, as he calls it, at the top of the office building that will even have a 4-foot deep pool on the top."

Kyle then added, "He told us when he started to plan the building he never thought he'd ever get to foster another boy, so he made it for him and Collin when he returns from college. And 'Dad Ken' ... he even owns some amusement parks and he took Robert and Eric to visit them last August. I hope we get to go to them, too." Kyle and Kevin were both smiling at that possibility.

"Boys, your father and I will be finished with our treatments by March, so we'll be able to go back to living together again. Won't that be nice?" said a smiling Vivian Parchsons.

"Yeah ... I guess so," said a somber Kevin, knowing what his dad had done and would probably be in jail before that.

The twins spent almost an hour talking to their mom before the nurse came in and told the patient that she had to change out her I.V. and the boy's had to leave then. Kevin and Kyle both went to their mom and hugged her and told her they loved her and then they kissed her cheek before waving goodbye as they left the hospital room.

When the twins walked out into the hallway they took off their infection control garb and placed it into the receptacles for those things. They quickly walked to the lounge where they saw Mr. Ken and Detective Joel, but they didn't know who the other man was yet.

"Kevin, Detective Joel would like for you to look at some picture's, and tell him if you recognize any of them," said Mr. Ken, as he motioned to the twin to come over and sit beside him.
