This is a list of the new characters mentioned in Another Chance: Book One. The list does not include those that visit from other stories, so it is incomplete, but you can reference this list when trying to figure out who is who. As the author, I feel a need to look at my list so I remember who belongs where, and I know some readers have commented on wanting a list. You are welcome to print this for your own personal use. Some details may not be filled in at this time, but as they are discovered, they will be added.

Heather Bolt-Archer, formerly Heather BoltDoB: 27 July 1972 Hair: Brunette Eyes: Hazel Orientation: Straight Jim's mother, she was a widow, her first husband was killed by a drunk driver. After trying to run the ranch, she ended up selling it piece by piece, and finally moving with Jim to Cody, WY. She worked as a paralegal in a law firm until they had her take the Bar Exam and become a lawyer. She married Sheriff Nick Archer on 15 August 2015. Nick had suggested that she keep the Bolt last name but hyphenate it to honor her deceased husband and her sons. Heather was introduced in Chapter One. |

Jim BoltDoB: 11 May 1998 Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Orientation: Gay, though he did consider himself bi- until he met Zac. Jim is the main character. When the story began, he was fifteen and extremely depressed. His dad had died and his mom sold off the ranch a little at a time until she had no choice but to sell the last plot. Jim had to sell his horse and put his beloved dog down. At the end of the school year, he was yanked from his friends. Eventually, he falls in love with Zac Schoen, has his horse back and loves two dogs. He is working at the ranch where his horse is kept. Jim was introduced in Chapter One. |

GoldBreed: American Quarter Horse Color: Palomino Gender: Stallion Horse Jim owned in Montana. As they sold the ranch, Jim had to sell his horse. When he went to Another Chance with Zac, he was reunited with his beloved Stallion. Until Jim got injured, Gold only let Jim on his back. Gold was introduced in Chapter One. |

They live at the end of a cul-de-sac and their properties actually touch. His mom "conned" him into meeting Heather and Jim. Jim felt an immediate attraction for Zac but hesitated on acting. Zac felt the same way. It wasn't until Jim let Zac know that he was bi before either made a move. They become boyfriends and will eventually marry, which is when Zac takes Jim's last name. Zac was introduced in Chapter One. |

Marilyn Abrams, formerly Marilyn SchoenDoB: 29 October 1973 Hair: Eyes: Orientation: Straight Marilyn is Zac's mom. Jim kind of adopted her as a second mom. Zac did the same with Heather. Marilyn is a realtor. She will meet Vince "Vinnie" Abrams and fall in love. When he proposes, she says that she needs to check with Zac first. Unknown to her, Vinnie did ask Zac for permission. They get married in September of 2014. Marilyn was introduced in Chapter One. |

Jackson SprayberryDoB: 7 July 1991 Hair: Brown Eyes: Green Orientation: Gay Ranch owner. He hired Jim on the spot when he saw his new stallion go right up to the boy; he learned that this stallion used to be owned by Jim and that Jim was the only one who could ride him. Jackson has a boyfriend named Ryan. They fell in love with each other while volunteering at a horse rescue. After Supreme Court approved same-sex marriage, they were wed. Unaware to Jackson, he was a twin. His twin was put up for adoption as his parents could barely afford to raise one child. When he finally met his twin, he became an instant loving brother. The twins were born opposite sides of Midnight so they don't share the same birthdays; while Jackson was born 7 July 1991, Jacob was born on the 8th. Jackson was introduced in Chapter Two. |

He likes pulling on shoe laces and has become drawn to Joe. Kunoichi Kunoichi means "female ninja." She resembles Shadow a lot and made Jim feel like Shadow was saying, "be happy." He became almost like a brother and thinks of Zac as his best friend. After Zac's mom, he was the first person to whom Zac came out. While he has money, he has proven many times that that he wants to use that money to help his friends. Matt will be starting school to become a veterinarian and buying the local vet's business. Matt doesn't want to charge for services since he doesn't need the money, but is willing to pay the vet a salary to work for him, and assist him once he gets his degree. Matt was introduced in Chapter Four. |

His dad kicked him out of the house when he found out Joe was gay. Jim instantly took a liking to him and has treated him like a brother from day one. Joe has the utmost respect for Jim and feels like Jim is his protector. He was born with a disability. One leg was two inches short than the other. Upon noticing this, Jim had special boots made for Joe's Christmas present. Joe dated and planned to marry Cornelius "Buster" Jones. Though Joe never met Jon during his life, Joe feels as though Jon adopted him. When Nick married Heather, he adopted Joe, but Joe wanted to keep the Bolt last name out of respect to Jon, so he hyphenated it like Heather. Joe was introduced in Chapter Six. |
