Three Finger Cove: Charles ~ Book Three

Chapter Forty~Five

The lads slept soundly all night long. None of them even got up to pee during the night, thanks to Robert's telling them to pee before they got into their sleeping bags. Chief had all those lads to choose from to sleep beside but she went to Charles, as she knew he was her current boy.

It was about 8 AM when the first of the lads woke up. They all had morning wood and most were afraid to show it even though most of them had boners in front of everybody last night. Dom and Wyatt were the first to get out of their sleeping bags and they walked to the restrooms letting their tented briefs lead the way. They got a few cat-calls from others who had the same problem but were too embarrassed to get up and do the same thing.

Sam and Terran saw and heard what was happening to their friends, so they too got out of their bedrolls and walked towards the restrooms with their tented briefs leading the way. When they got the same cat-calls, they smiled a knowing smile to one another and bent over and bared their baby soft butts towards the cat-callers and then slapped their butt cheeks at them. That brought about a roaring laugh from the rest of the lads who were all now wide awake.

"Why are you teasing Dom and Wyatt because they had boners as they walked to relieve their bladders? Huh?" spoke up Sam as he turned around to face the tormentors before going into the restroom.

"And I agree with Sam," said Brad, as he stood up with his own tented briefs. "We all get them and I bet all of you had them when you woke up this morning. I even bet you all had them, at one time or another, last night as you swam butt naked in Mr. Ken's pool. We are all friends here no matter what our age is. We should all be applauding our 'brothers' as they go pee not laugh at them. Now, get rid of your small minds and stand up in support of them!"

What the lads didn't know was that Mr. Ken was up at the top of the spiral staircase watching and listening. He hadn't intended to do that, but when he heard the cat-calls, and then the raucous laughter he wanted to find out what that was all about. He heard what Sam said as he stood up for his friends. It was what Brad said though that really got his attention. He knew from how and what Brad said that he understood what their 'bonding' was all about. He hoped the other lads would realize what the teen said was what friendship and brotherhood was all about.

Then, he heard lots of rustling and some clapping. He looked over the edge of the balcony to see what that was all about and he saw the lads getting out of their sleeping bags, boners and all, and now applauding what Brad had voiced.

"Brad, you are right," spoke up Logan. "Guys, Mr. Ken … he's talked to all of us about us bonding as friends and he's allowed us to be ourselves when we swim. Sure, he's seen many of us naked and even some of us boned up but he never yelled and never stuck around and stared. He wanted us to be free to be who we were and along the way he wanted us to bond together.

"He wanted us to have something we could look back on, when we get older, and see what fun we had as kids and weren't afraid to show it. As we get older many of us probably won't want to skinny dip, but we'll all know what it was like and how much fun it was. We are all brothers today and we shouldn't tease one of our brothers about something we all have and do. Now, grow up and stop being simple minded."

It got awfully quiet down in the Great Room. Mr. Ken figured Logan's speech would bring most if not of them all together and more like brothers. He also figured some might rebel and he'd seen them no more. Then the room erupted into chaos with yelling and clapping. The man figured Brad and Logan had made their point and had gotten through to them. Then without making it known he was there, he walked to the Kitchen Nook for his first cup of coffee.

"Guys, it's getting late. We need to drain our dragons or lizards, to use a term my 'dad' has said a time or two to us. We also need to straighten up our things and then get dressed. Momma Maria will be here soon if she isn't already," said Robert.

Upon hearing that Momma Maria might be there, the boys all ran to the restroom to pee and then they came back and dressed just as quickly. They all set their stuff in a neat pile and when they were all ready, they headed up to the Kitchen Nook to see what was for breakfast.

"I'll bet its Momma Maria's famous breakfast burritos," offered Chuck, who loved to eat, to no one in particular.

"Yeah, she has these great bacon and egg and egg and cheese burritos," agreed Brad.

When the lads got to the Kitchen Nook they had a big, no a huge surprise. Momma Maria didn't have the breakfast burritos ready for the lads. She had waffles, pancakes, bacon stripes and sausage links and fresh sliced strawberries, blueberries, butter, syrup and powdered sugar ready for the lads to use as toppings. The guys' eyes got large and their taste buds went into overdrive.

'Dad' Ken already had his meal in front of him, as the boys arrived, and when Charles asked why he didn't wait for them, the man said something to effect that no man waits for food this good.

The boys lined up to get their breakfast. There were two lines with everything there for the taking on both sides. The boys allowed Charles and Robert to go first but today there was no letting the younger lads go first. It was a first come first shove into line to get to the food.

The lads spread out all around the Kitchen Nook and service counters as they had last night for the spaghetti dinner. The boys were so engrossed in their meal they were extremely quiet. The only thing that could be heard was the chewing the lads made as they ate this special meal and their purrs as they enjoyed something totally different than what they've had before.

"Thank you Momma," said Mr. Ken, as he pushed his chairs away from the table and got ready to head to his Study. "That was such a great breakfast and so totally unexpected. I truly offer you my deepest thanks for making this oh, so special meal for us. Thank You!"

Some of the boys went back for seconds. Some only went back for the fresh strawberries or blueberries as they never had them for breakfast before. This morning's meal was totally unlike anything they ever had at home before. Some of the lads went back for more pancakes and bacon while some took waffles and put some powdered sugar on them. This was going to be a breakfast they will remember for many months.

As the boys finished eating, they placed their dirty paper plates in the trash and their regular utensils into the sink so they could be rinsed and put into the dishwasher. Many waited for others to finish so they could go outside to the ramps. When Robert finished his breakfast he did what the others had done but he added a step. Robert went over to Momma Maria, as he was disposed to do, and hugged her. He thanked her for making such a special breakfast for him and his 'brother' and their friends.

Charles followed suit and the lads who'd been there enough times got in line to thank the woman, too. While the lads were lined up, Asher and Mason headed over to Eric to ask him what that was all about. As Eric began to explain, Wyatt and Dominic came over, too.

"Guys, ever since I've been coming over here, I always saw Collin and Ryan hug her and thank her for cooking the meal, whatever it was. When Robert started living here, he didn't know his older 'brothers' hugged Momma Maria, but he went up to her and hugged her and thanked her for taking the time to cook the great meal. When I've been here, I always joined in with Collin, Ryan and now Robert to show my appreciation for her doing this for us, especially like what she did this morning. It doesn't hurt and she loves the attention you give her," explained Eric matter-of-factly.

Some of the guys waited for the others to hug Momma Maria before going outside. Eric had gotten in line but was not at the end of the line. When Eric got up to hug Momma Maria he said, "Momma Maria, ever since I've been coming here … you've always made such good meals for us. You've treated me … you treated me as if I was a member of The Cove even though I was only a guest, a visitor. You made me feel special … very special every time I was here as if you were my grandmother. I wish I HAD a Grandmother as good as you! Thank You for all you've done for me!" Then Eric gave her a great big hug.

As Eric was hugging Momma Maria, the boys saw she had great big tears running down her face. Charles saw what was happening and he ran to get his 'dad'. "'Dad', 'dad', come quick. Momma is crying!"

'Dad' Ken quickly pushed away from his desk and quickly followed Charles back to the Kitchen Nook. When the two Covers got there they saw Eric was still hugging the crying woman. Mr. Ken asked what happened and Dominic said that Eric made a speech about how she treated him and that he wished she was his grandmother. Then she started crying. Mr. Ken sought out Robert for more information and the only thing his 'son added was that Eric thanked her for making him feel special and like he was one of us. Then, he said he wish she was his grandmother and that's when she began crying.

When the two broke from their hug, Momma Maria dabbed her eyes and quickly walked away and headed to the Butler's Pantry. That left the lads stunned at what just happened.

Eric came over to Mr. Ken and he had tears in his eyes. "Mr. Ken, I didn't mean to make her cry, honest, I didn't do it on purpose. I just wanted to thank her, you know, thank her for making me feel so special every time I am here. I always looked upon here as a grandmother to me and that's what I told her. I'm sorry if I said the wrong thing, Mr. Ken."

Ken Thomas went to check on his employee. He found her in the Butler's Pantry with her tears almost closed down. He checked on her and asked her if what Eric said she thought was inappropriate. Maria told the man that it was the complete opposite. She told her employer that what Eric told her, she could feel that it came from his heart and it told her how much everyone there appreciated what she does for the residents of The Cove. After saying that she shed a few more tears and Mr. Ken pulled her into a hug.

Charles and Robert followed their 'dad' a few seconds later to the Butler's Pantry and they heard their conversation. The boys entered the Pantry and told the woman that she was very much appreciated and loved and that without her they would probably starve. The boys then hugged her again.

The four exited the Pantry and went back to the Kitchen Nook. There, Mr. Ken told the waiting boys, "Momma Maria felt so honored by Eric … that he felt she was like a grandmother to him that it overwhelmed her … and that was why she left so suddenly. She's worked for me almost from the start and Collin, Ryan, Eric, Robert and now Charles always hug her after she's made an awesome meal for us. Some you of have even started to hug her for making your breakfasts after a long night of sleeping over. (A few chuckles were heard when Mr. Ken said that.)

"Guys … what Eric said … she knew it was from his heart and as it was totally unexpected, she just broke down from what it meant to her. Guys, always know that Momma Maria appreciates your hugs after she's made a meal for you, but today … Eric's heartfelt offering made it even more special to her. I think we all owe Momma Maria a loud round of applause for always making us feel special with her awesome meals!"

Everyone who was there began clapping and they clapped long and hard for the woman who never complains about cooking for so many. Then, as the boys stopped clapping they all got back in line to give the woman another hug.

Outside at the ramps, the boys who were new to The Cove were still processing what they saw that morning. For Asher and Mason it made even more sense to them that Three Finger Cove was an awesome place and that people are treated as 'family', no matter what their status. Wyatt and Dominic had never been a part of what happened that morning and it made them recognize that no matter who the person is they mean something to someone, and if they can help a person feel good, then what did it hurt to do so?

"Guys," called out Robert, to get all the boys attention, "that was really something special back there in the Kitchen Nook. I've only been here for something like seven months but Eric … he has been coming over here since Collin arrived more than three years ago. He's seen a lot of things going on here and he knows Momma Maria better than any of us. I think you all heard what he said to her and she obviously felt that she truly was appreciated and thought of as more than the lady who cooked for us.

"You newer guys, Wyatt, Dom, Ash and Mason, just like last night and our skinny dipping, hugging Momma Maria is just something we do. I hope you didn't feel you had to give her a hug, but I know she always loves it when we show her how much we love what she does for all of us.

"And guys, while I got your attention, I want to remind you, and especially you newer guys, that the skinny dipping is only talked about between ourselves. It is something very special our 'dad' lets us do and he doesn't have a problem with it, but … if anyone talks to people who don't know what that bonding experience is all about they will talk to others and before you know it Charles and myself could be taken away from here and we both do not want that to happen. This has been the greatest foster home ever and hopefully Mr. Ken can get other boys to foster and give them the opportunity to change their lives like he has for us. So, please, everybody don't ruin it for Charles and me and of course if you do and we are gone you won't have any reason to be coming over."

The guys said they all understood what Robert was talking about. Ash and Mason did ask a few questions when they were alone with Charles and that only reinforced that what they had done the night before was truly awesome and exciting. They told Charles they never had the opportunity to do that at their own homes even though they each had outdoor pools and wished they could have done it.

The lads skated until they were wore out and then they went swimming out in the lagoon. Charles still had to be careful doing either, so he just did simple turns and only rode the half-pipe skateboard ramp. When they swam the preteens just used the rafts slides and climbed on the wall side as well. Christy and Megan watched over the lads and they were going to earn their money that day since the boys were there right from the beginning of the day.

At 6 PM, the lads were up at the Main Gate waiting for their parents. When the parents began showing up they noticed something different about the Main Gate. They asked either Charles or Robert what was going on so the lads told them Sheriff Barnes explained to their 'dad' that the threat he needed security guards for was no longer an issue, so Mr. Ken had reduced the number of guards on duty at a time.

While the parents were surprised at the reduced security, their kids were telling them how they watched an outdoor movie under the stars and that Mr. Ken cooked spaghetti and meat sauce for them and he had garlic toast as well. Then, they told them how Momma Maria provided waffles and pancakes with bacon and sausage links. They told their moms and dads that she had fresh strawberries and blueberries along with syrup, butter and powdered sugar for their breakfast. The parents couldn't believe how lucky their kids were as they were having a summer to never forget.

Joyce asked if Mr. Ken was coming up to the gate but the boys told here they were going out to dinner as soon as all their friends were picked up. She was disappointed she wouldn't get the chance to talk to the man so she asked where they were going and that maybe she'd see them there. Camm was behind his mom and was shaking his head 'NO, NO, NO'.

At least Robert saw what Camm was trying to do and before Charles could tell her they would probably be at Four Corners the teenager said they were talking about going out for pizza where they had the arcade in the back. Charles looked at his 'brother' with a look that said 'what are you talking about'. Robert told his 'brother' he'd tell him about it later. Joyce was disappointed and told the boys to tell Mr. Ken she said 'Hi'.

When Charles and Robert went back to the house they stopped by the Study to tell their 'dad' what Camm's mom said, and then Robert had to explain to the preteen that Joyce has been trying to get a date with their 'dad' and Camm was shaking his head he didn't want her to know where they were going out for dinner. Then it dawned on Charles what it was all about, and he said he now knew for the next time.

Then, Charles asked, "'Dad', when do you think I can invite just one or two of my friends to spend the night?? It is nice to have a big sleepover like we had last night, but with all that many boys you just can't spend any time with friends your own age."

The question surprised Mr. Ken. Then he asked if they could talk about it at dinner and sent the boys upstairs to get cleaned up and changed as he wanted to sit on the restaurant side at Four Corners. Then, while his 'boys' were upstairs he realized that Charles, and Robert as well, hadn't had any special friends spend the night for weeks now.

Mr. Ken realized things were going so fast and with Charles's surgery that sort of stymied the boy's chances for either of the boy's friends to spend the night. He even realized that Eric hadn't stayed there ever since Charles was going to have his surgery. He knew he needed to make that up to the boys, since school would start in about four weeks.

At dinner, Mr. Ken and the boys talked about the boys having sleep overs for just a few friends instead of the whole group. Mr. Ken agreed it would make it a lot easier on Momma Maria and his 'sons' would have more fun with just a few friends versus the large gaggle of Friday night.

'Dad' Ken asked how many lads would they like to have stay over and would the boys want them all on the same night or each boy take a different night. That brought up a quandary for the lads so they told him they'd like to talk it over between themselves and let him know.

Then, Mr. Ken brought up another issue that concerned Robert. He told the lad that as they enjoyed the lagoon's waters he had a phone call from Stewart. He told Robert that the TV station's lawyer and the reporter's lawyer wanted to meet to see if they could all come to some sort of resolution and avoid the trial on Wednesday. It was then Robert learned he had to be at the meeting on Monday which was to convene at 10 AM in Stewart Russell's office.

Robert didn't understand why he had to be there but 'dad' Ken said as long as he was the plaintiff, he needed to hear the defendant's proposals and to either agree with them, or negotiate a better settlement, or decide to go to trial. Robert didn't like what he had to do but when 'dad' Ken reminded him that he was the one who was maligned and accused without ever having a chance to be heard. It was then Robert resolved to be there and listen to their proposals but he knew he didn't have to accept them.

The rest of the night at dinner and later in Mr. Ken's Study the three Covers talked about the sleepover, Mr. Chris, and the lads desire to have simple sleepovers with just a few friends. When they were talked out they decided to go down to the Theater and watch movie together.

Sunday was a mirror image of previous days were the boy's friends came over and skated then swam and then had a cookout. The end of July was coming up fast and in about four weeks the schools would begin in earnest for another school year.

Robert got up earlier than usual for a Monday. He knew him and his 'dad' had to meet with Stewart Russell before the other lawyers joined them for the conference they asked for. He met his 'dad' in the Kitchen Nook for breakfast, but he didn't eat very much as his stomach was a bit upset over having to meet with a bunch of people he never met before. They left The Cove in ample time to meet with Stewart and get some parameters that Robert would be acceptable to.

At 10 AM, the lawyers and the principles met in the offices of Bill Jackson where Stewart Russell worked. The introductions went well and everybody was cordial to one another. It was Richard Casey who started out the conversation telling the lad he had no grounds for causing this action and he should drop his frivolous lawsuit. Robert was ready to fight back but 'dad' Ken caught his arm, as the lad moved forward, and motioned him not to say anything. Mr. Ken knew from all the times Bill Jackson or Uncle Andy held him back from making a mistake that could cause more harm than good.

Stewart Russell listened to the man rant and rave, even as his own lawyer grabbed his arm to shut him up, about how he had retracted his assertion and that he wasn't any longer responsible for what may or may not have happened afterward. Then the television station's lawyer jumped on that bandwagon saying they had no idea he would wrongly identify Robert as an attacker when in reality he was one of those attacked. They asserted they couldn't control what Richard Casey said and could not be held accountable.

Stewart motioned Mr. Ken and Robert into a side conference to get Robert's take on how they presented their position. Robert said he didn't care what they claim, it is what happened that is at issue here. Stew suggested they ask what sort of compensation they were willing to offer to make this issue go away.

Robert's lawyer broached the issue of compensation for his client, who was indeed wrongly identified on the TV station and whose image was used without his permission. Hearing the lad wanted some sort of what he called 'hush money', it was Casey himself who blew his top over the thought of any monetary exchange whatsoever. The TV station wanted to know what the lad thought was appropriate. Again, Richard Casey blew his top without even consulting with his lawyer.

Stewart, Mr. Ken and Robert huddled together and discussed the two different approaches and what Robert thought was appropriate to make his statement about being wrongly accused to all the people in the county and surrounding counties. It was Mr. Ken who recommended that Stew should find out what the TV station was willing to pay to make the issue go away for them.

Stewart turned around to face the other lawyers and defendants and asked what they thought was adequate compensation. That group turned to consult and when they refaced Stewart, Mr. Ken and Robert they offered a sum of $2,500.00. Robert gasped at the paltry sum and grabbed his 'dad's' arm and whispered to him 'No!'. Unfortunately, everyone else heard the lads, "No!" and they sort of snickered at the lad's quick response.

Knowing that sum wasn't acceptable to Robert, the opposing lawyers asked what the boy wanted. Robert heard him being called a 'boy' and that irritated him and this time he very lightly whispered to Stew and his 'dad' that he also didn't appreciate their denigrating him with the title of 'boy'. He then told Stew that they needed to add two more zeroes to the measly twenty-five hundred dollars they offered. Hearing what his 'son' wanted made Mr. Ken to raise his eyebrows and then smile. He was interested in seeing how this all would pan out.

"My client says that you not only maligned him in front of millions of people and accused him of something he wasn't involved in, but you even now have the gall to call him 'boy' to his face. My client, thirteen year old Robert Harrison, is a teenager and has told me to tell you, the TV station that is, that he wants you to add two zeroes to you offer," stated Stewart Russell as he spoke to the whole group.

"Sure, we'll add two zeroes at the end and it still winds up being twenty-five hundred dollars,' chuckled the TV stations lawyer.

"Oh, okay, I understand that you are not interested in reaching an agreement today, so we'll see you ALL in court come Wednesday morning," spoke Stew, as he stood up and walked to the door and opened it to show the defendant's and their lawyers they were free to leave.

"Whoa," immediately said the stations lawyer. "Let me talk to my clients to see what they are willing to do here."

The stations lawyer pulled his clients, the station's owner and the on-air director, who put Richard Casey's story on the air, together and they had a raucous discussion. Even Richard Casey's name was heard during their supposed 'private' conversation. When their talk did quiet down it sounded like they reached a decision.

"Mr. Harrison, the station's owner has agreed that the $2,500.00 was an entry level sum and in retrospect would like to now offer you $25,000.00. My clients believe that is a true and most fair amount for the inconvenience, pain and shame you must have felt upon learning Mr. Casey misidentified you as an attacker. The station's owner feels this is a fair and equitable sum to compensate what you had to endure. My clients also want this agreement between the parties to be sealed and not mentioned or talked about to anyone. Would you please discuss this offer with your lawyer and your guardian and let us know," explained the TV station's lawyer.

Stewart Russell pulled Robert and Mr. Ken aside and the three disused the TV station's offer. Robert asked a few questions about the offer, but then Mr. Ken reminded Robert that he had to pay Mr. Russell for his time and efforts and that it would come from the settlement. Robert asked Stewart what his pay would be and when Robert learned it would be in the range of $7500.00 – $8000.00 he was appalled. He wasn't ready to accept that amount if so much was going to go to his lawyer.

It wasn't that Robert didn't think the man was worth that amount, he just wanted the TV station to have to feel some pain in the end. He asked Stew what the other lawyer meant about the agreement was to be sealed. When he learned he could never talk to anyone other than the people involved, Robert said he would not agree to that. He told Mr. Russell he was thirteen and all his friends know he is taking these people to court and they expect to hear what happened.

Robert also told his lawyer that he wanted the full $25,000.00 and that if they didn't want to accept that then he'd see them in court. Mr. Ken just shook his head at the determination his 'son' had in this matter. Then, Robert asked if Mr. Casey was included in the settlement since he works for the station. Mr. Russell said he would ask.

"Gentlemen, my client has some issues with your offer. The first one is whether or not this agreement also includes Mr. Casey. Does your offer include Mr. Casey?" directly asked Stew Russell.

The three conferred and their response was 'no'.

"The next issue my client has is that he wants the FULL amount of $25,000.00. That means …" and Stew was interrupted by the station's lawyer who said he understood what Mr. Harrison meant and he would talk to his clients.

After a few moments, the station's lawyer came back to Stewart and said they would agree to the full amount and would pay the lawyer's fees. They then asked if there were any other issues they needed to deal with.

"Yes," began Stewart, "my client will not agree to seal this agreement. He's told me he would not agree to not talk to his friends and 'brothers' and his guardian, Mr. Thomas here, about this agreement, and that if you insist he must I will remind you he is thirteen years old and cannot legally be bound by such an agreement. So, the ball is in your court. My client is asking the court to award him $50,000.00 and if you do not agree to his conditions he has told me to tell you that we'll see you in court," completed Stewart Russell.

It didn't take the TV station long to agree to the teenager's conditions but they made it completely clear they were not associated with Mr. Casey's agreement as the lawsuit identified each as a separate defendant and that Richard Casey would have to come to terms on his own deal. The two lawyers agreed to meet Wednesday to sign the agreement papers and turn over the agreed upon sum. The station's owner, director and lawyer then exited the room.

Mr. Casey's lawyer was present and heard all the negotiations and he talked to his client the entire time telling Mr. Casey he needed to come to an agreement or he'd be crucified in the papers and possibly his own TV station. The lawyer also told his client if he didn't settle he could very well be looking for a job if he brings discredit to the station.

Speaking to Mr. Russell, the other lawyer said, "Okay, my client, Mr. Casey, is willing to agree to the same settlement your client just made with the TV station. Would that be acceptable?"

Stewart turned to Robert and Mr. Ken and asked them what they thought. Robert was pissed at the man for what he'd personally done to him and he wanted more. He told Stew he wanted the full $50,000.00 but he wouldn't have to pay the lawyers' fees.

"MY client, Mr. Robert Harrison, asked me to tell you that your client must pay the full $50,000.00 and he would agree to the other terms of the other agreement," relayed Stewart Russell.

Richard Casey was shocked that he'd have to pay the full amount he was being sued for and began to rant when his lawyer told him to shut up. The man's lawyer said that if he wanted to keep his job he'd better agree and move on.

Robert was all smiles when he returned to The Cove after lunch that Monday. All his friends ran to him when they saw him and they wanted to know what happened. Robert didn't disappoint them as he told him everything that happened. He told them he would be receiving a sum of money but he wasn't at liberty to tell them. The guys all understood the money issue and that he probably had a confidentiality agreement in place, so they didn't push him for that number. They were just very happy for Robert that he won against the TV station and the on-air reporter.

Inside the Study, Mr. Ken was talking to his lawyer Bill Jackson. The men were all smiles at the way Stew and Robert worked together to get what the lad felt was fair for him. They talked about other issues and then Ken got around to Chris Dominions. Bill told Ken that he made the comment about the possibility of PTSD with the man, but because of medical records being private he couldn't confirm his suspicions. Ken Thomas explained what he and Chris talked about and that the owner of The Cove told Chris he couldn't allow that to happen once more and if it did he would have to let the man go.

Then, Ken asked Bill for a good Trust Fund manager. Ken wanted to put Robert's money into a Trust so it would be available to the teen when he goes off to college. Bill told him the pluses and minuses of Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Custodial Accounts, 529 College Savings Plan and Coverdell Education Savings Accounts. The lawyer said it would be good to talk to someone who specializes in setting something like that up. Ken then asked what would be a good account that no one can come in and take custody and then strip any money out without Robert's knowledge or permission. Bill said that was way out of his purview and he gave Ken a name to call.

Before the two men hug up, Ken Thomas asked Bill if he knew what was happening to Robert's parent's estate and monies they had in the bank. Mr. Ken wanted his lawyer to sue the parents', in Robert's name, to recover all the money the lad had made for his parents. The man wanted Robert to have a nest egg sitting and waiting for him when the time came after the lad finished college and was ready to go out into the big bad world. Bill said he'd have Stewart look into it and get back to him. They promised to get together soon then hung up.

After hanging up, Ken Thomas called the person Bill had given him to call about money management and setting up some sort of trust vehicle for Robert. The person who answered was very helpful and asked Mr. Ken to come in for a face-to-face discussion so he could get a much better idea of what the man wanted for his kid. They set up Wednesday morning for the appointment now that the court case concerning the lawsuit was going to be cancelled.
