Given a diary for his birthday, twelve-year-old Dixon takes his mother’s advice concerning the gift to heart. Write the things you can’t tell anyone. He tells of the strange feelings he is developing for his best friend Jesse. He describes what happens when he goes on a weekend excursion with Jesse and his older brother, Jason. He writes of how happy he is the way his life changes after he gets the diary. But, it’s what happens when his mother reads the diary that leads to a whole new life for Dixon.
